Seems more reasonable than the 8-10 million that was being banded around.

If the rumours about the Lovren/Lallana/Lambert triple deal i wouldnt pay too much to their individual prices anyway with clauses to other teams being a factor in them

I can see why we want Lambert, but I don't see why he'd want to move to us. He would literally have no chance of becoming a first-choice striker here (like he is at Southampton), the only perks for him would be higher wages and Champions League. And maybe being able to play with Lallana, if he signs, although I doubt Lambert will see much game time anyway.

Liverpool fan, chance at joining a team with title aspirations and a chance at playing in the Champions League

He knows he will be 3rd choice striker but there are plenty of games for LFC next season and at 32 wont get this chance again

pretty much

he's 32, with Southampton he's never going to really win trophies. he'd never get a chance to play for his boyhood team again

Seems we've offered 16m + Suso on loan for Sevilla's Alberto Moreno and Emre Can hold up is the players wage demands

Be pretty happy if these deal came off, especially Moreno, although i am a fan of Suso.

Pretty sure Leverkusen said we haven't bid for him, despite the fact he has a ?12m clause. Hopefully we do bid though.

Surely selling Lallana for cheap isn't 100% legal? At the very least a total **** move.

Rickie Lambert is actually a very good striker on the quiet. 4m is steep, but assuming you'll be getting some money knocked off Lallana I think he's a really nice signing for you.

I actually applaud Rodgers in this move for Lambert as its someone they actually need. Unlike many other top clubs and managers who refuse to sign a player who will give them a plan B and to be fair last season Rodgers didn't believe he needed one either but at least it seems as if he has learnt which is a sign of a good manager.

Why the Lambert hate? Great player, and brilliant transfer if true. Always better to have an old fart keeping pressure on the younger strikers, rather then another guy at similar age who will get butthurt at lack of playtime.

Plus, he's expert FK/PK taker and you can never have enough of those.

Even more so when we are in the CL

(I'm never gonna get tired of saying that :D)

perfectly legal... If i remember correctly Monaco did it with Moutinho and Rodriguez

No they didn't. It was rumored that they will do that but they didn't. They paid 70 Million for the pair, 45Million for James Rodriguez and 25 Million for Moutinho which is what he was worth and Porto asked.

Completely agree, it's a shame but from a business point of view its smart from Southampton

Why it is smart? I'm sure Southampton knows what its like being in lower leagues and the value of the sell on clause for smaller clubs, what if other clubs starts doing samething to them? Like for example, Arsenal ******* them for Walcott and Ox deals if they have sell on clause.

I don't believe there is any truth in the reports but if they do them both clubs should be ashamed of the way they do business by killing smaller club.

I didn't know he supported Liverpool, my bad.

How can you blame Liverpool for this? Southampton are the ones who have (supposedly) set the asking price, it's not like we're going to negotiate it so Southampton get less money. If a club offers a player you want for a reasonable price, you take the offer.

Because if this is true then Liverpool and Southampton negotiate price like overpaying for Lovern and getting Lallana for much lesser price. Southampton gets the money they would have got for selling both and they also save the sell on clause money that they owe to smaller club.

These kind of deals cannot happen without 2 clubs agreeing.
