Is he really that bad? I remember Chelsea fans touting him as Cole's successor and they were pretty loud about him.

So average.. Worse than what we have at LB.

Proved at Villa he is a mid table player at the very highest

Bertrand. Ryan ******* Bertrand.

This just won't go away... Very happy with our summer so far but this would be such a terrible signing. 8million!? 8!!

Really? I don't see why you'd be very happy with it, this post from a day back sums it up for me.

Liverpool seem to be signing players that they could have signed if they'd finished 5th or 6th.

The players they're signing don't seem to be improving the squad to a Champions League squad, more just filling in the squad so they have the numbers in the team. Very strange. They need to bring in some sort of top level talent, not a range of mid level talents.

Lovren won't improve the squad. Origi being loaned back to Lille for a year. Remy is good but not going to get much better considering his age. Markovic is a top talent with potential to be world class, but he's inconsistent (coming from someone who watched him all last season). Emre Can again is a squad filler, not better than your current CM options.

Just seems strange.

We've added depth to our squad, Lovren will improve our defense. We're lacking an organizer and that's he does well.
We have now have attacking options of Sturridge, Sterling, Markovic, Coutinho and Lallana, that looks very strong.
Emre Can also has potential to become a big player for us, he's held in high regard by Munich and Leverkusen, last season our bench was very, very weak and we finished 2nd, now it's going to be impressive.

Do you have a superiority complex? Coming in here thinking your Jimmy Big Bollocks... haa
First of all, I'm not even native English, but I know your and you're are two different words. Second, I honestly don't know point of your quotes. Are you trying to pick a fight? Fine. What did Liverpool do last season? Nothing. Won nothing, lost their best player and signed bunch of mediocre players who are not fit to lance Suarez's shoes. When's the last time you were in serious 'BPL trophy' story? 10 years ago if not counting last one. You spent 20 years fighting with Everton, Tottenham and the rest of second tier English clubs for that #4 spot, and how many times did you get into CL? Talking about last season, where did you finish season before that? You know **** all bud.
About FFP, United signed deal with Adidas worth 100 millions per year. And that's only one sponsor. I doubt Liverpool ever had season profit close to 100 mill. According to Forbes, United is worth 3 times more than Liverpool. It has 3 times more fans globally. Liverpool is big, historical club, Uniteds fiercest rival and I ******* adore seeing you guys in top4. However, it doesn't mean you're as big as United. You're not. Not it this moment. Forget about all trophies, United has more money, more fans, better players, stadium and manager. And even without CL, United can sign 'world class' players. Liverpool can't. You need a lot more than one top4 season. So pull your head out of your *** and just leave me out of this discussion, because you're going to say something stupid and I'll just laugh at you.

Who do you have at LB position? If he's that bad, he can only be backup? Is Flanagan RB or LB? He seems like a pretty good prospect.

You haven't signed any world-class players... so you haven't proved that you have the ability to do it without Champions League football. We'll finish ahead of you next season, you're squad is bang average with players like Jones, Smalling, Young, Cleverley, Valencia, Nani , Welbeck all not good enough to be playing for a club like United in my opinion.
Why are you assuming that I know nothing about Football, I didn't say anything about United's FFP so i'm not quite sure why you're pointing out the Adidas sponsorship deal to me.
Even while being a Liverpool fan, I still have an extensive knowledge of United's history, so don't assume anything.
I made one grammatical mistake and you're basing my intelligence of that, pretty petty of you.
You just seem very arrogant, you also don't need to resort to insulting me to have a discussion.

Flanno can both play sides equally, we also have Jose Enrique at left-back.

United had everything arranged with Kroos, then van Gaal pull out of that transfer. Kroos is 'wc' player. United were offered Fabregas, and United said no. So yea, United can indeed pull 'wc' players.
Will you? You almost won championship with average squad bar Suarez, and now you don't have even him. So you can see why I doubt you'll finish about United who also have 'average' players.
You were using 'where did United finish last season'. If you knew where Liverpool finished two seasons ago, you wouldn't make that comment. So yea, you don't have the right facts bud nor right argument.
You asked Zezy about Uniteds FFP, so I was kind enough to enlighten you as much as I can.
Funny, you took 'high ground' when you quoted me, and now you're calling me arrogant. Sorry if I insulted you, but I'm just being honest.

Anyway, this is boring, I didn't want to be drawn into this, ******* I'm weak :( I'm off, gotta get some good night sleep.

This has to be a troll, no one can be that much of a stereotypical Liverpool fan. Persecution complex, randomly starting fights with United fans, overestimating your club's position/squad, random bouts of hypocrisy, it's all there.

Kroos isn't a world-class player yet, and do you really think he would of chose United over Real Madrid, i don't think he would for obvious reasons. Fabregas isn't World-Class anymore either. We have a better team than you, so yes I think we'll finish ahead of you.
Liverpool's last two seasons before we finished 2nd have no baring on this season coming, so I struggle to see a reason to bring them up whereas your season finishing 7th is still relevant and will effect you in the transfer market and financially due not being in The Champions League.
You came into this discussion and said I'll make a mistake and you'll laugh at me... tell me how that isn't arrogant.

Say's the one currently viewing a Liverpool thread looking to bait me into having a "fight" with you, you're just looking for a few cheap likes.

Fine, I'll bite.
It's ok if you thing those two are not WC players. Term WC isn't accurate and everyone is using it as they like. Also, its fine if you think Liverpool have better team than United. I can accept that.
No, you came into discussion, quoting my 'This is getting better' with 'Like Uniteds last season' or something like that. So yes, you took high ground here, not me. However, it is my fault that you landed hard.
So taking double standards mate? It's Ok when Liverpool have bad season ( or should I say expected one by your standards), and Liverpool had strength to finish second, losing title in last couple of games, but god forbid if the same thing can happen with United. So yes, call me arrogant all you want, but that's prime material for laughs.

It will cost them £30m or so, which is nothing compared to the money that they will make this year. Don't get me wrong, I too would love to see United become a midtable club but it's not going to happen this season (or any time soon, really). The transformation from top club to mediocrity is normally more of a slow slide than it is a sharp fall, which is something that becomes less of an issue when you can just throw metric fuckton of cash at it.

I find it funny how people are judging before a ball has yet been kicked in this new season. Both Liverpool fans and United fans are bigging themselves up too much in my opinion. We will obviously not be the same as we were last season without Suarez, but we do still have a young, pacey, exciting counter attacking side. Even without Suarez last season we had some very good games.

United fans on the other hand seem to think now LVG is in charge, they are going to win everything. There are still LOTS of issues still to address in their side. Rooney isnt half the player he used to be (I hate him, but I have to say he was a quality player when he had that fire in his belly, which he has sadly lost), RVP is getting old now, there are no natural leaders in your defence and well Fellaini...

Both teams have a lots of work to do before they can challenge, and both it seems have the money to do so. Time will tell with transfers, but I feel it is going to be close between Liverpool and United as of right now.

Definitely agree with you about the term World Class, it's thrown around too much and is loosely attached to too many players.
This is getting better, like United's season was a joke.. hardly taking the high ground.
Did I say it was ok when Liverpool have a bad season?, finishing 7th was embarrassing for us but it's not relevant anymore and has no baring on our next season.
I'm pretty sure Liverpool got a lot of stick for losing the title, mainly from United fan's so the whole god forbid if United did it isn't really much of a point. I could also pick out a lot of grammatical mistakes in your reply, but I won't go there like you did.
Anyway, let's end the discussion as we are deferring from the actual intention of this thread which is discuss Liverpool and not argue between ourselves :)

I agree with you largely, but throwing cash at their problems doesn't always work.
