I think last summer proved that even with CL football the top players would join other teams.. It's not as simple as saying we were in Champions League we should have bought world class players

I totally Agree with you but players like Balotelli, Manquillo, Markovic, Lampert! are always available in the market. I think we should have aimed higher than that. I know it's easy to say it afterwards now that the season is over. but i was saying the same thing in the summer too. You cannot replace a world class player like suarez with 4 20 years old youngster....

I stilll believe that we could have made better choices. Again this year they say we aim at depay,, yeah he had a great World cup but is he the right player ? Is depay the best top class striker we can get? If the answer is Yes then we have serious transfer problems. IF the answer is no, the why should we sign depay and not someone else?

Because Depay is not a top class striker? He is a wide player, who can also play up top. And technically, Liverpool need wide players, your only recognised wide player is Sterling, IIRC? Coutinho is much more effective playing through the center. And Lallana out wide is a joke. Markovic ofc, is an option, but hasn't really impressed till date, although probably still needs more time.

And yet, it's still accurate. The poor start killed us.

Well done Louis for stating the obvious.. Strange how he fails to mention the poor start also killed Liverpool and Arsenal and probably a host of clubs as well

Balotelli was a panic, that much was obvious because we had failed with other targets... You can almost forget Manquillo and Lambert. They were purchased for next to nothing for squad depth and that is all in reality. Markovic was one of the bigger signings and you would have expected more of an impact immediately, but the lad is very young and can only improve

I agree with you, but unfortunately that's the transfer policy in place and Im not sure who is to blame on that! Depay will not be bought as a main striker - highly unlikely that will be the case

All of a sudden a Depay - Coutinho - Sterling three look frightening with Sturridge or a new ST in front of them

It's a possibility... Always good to have options in the side
True that. My only concern with Depay from a Utd point of view, and lots of PSV fans agree is that he can only really play LW which is ok if you don't have lots of options there but we do.

And why exactly would he be commenting Arsenal or Liverpool if he was asked question about Manchester United? Some strange agenda you have there.

That's true.. you should just forget about him... haha

It just annoys me when managers say such obvious things such as this and its not just Van Gaal... Rodgers comes out with them each week at the moment

It is obvious, but it's also true. If United were in this kind of form at the beginning of the season, we would be contenders for 1st place. It does applies to other clubs as well though. If only City could maintain their form from beginning of the season or what if Arsenal was playing like this in September.

If you guys do get Depay and play him as an STR you will be very dissapionted!

So we are buying another winger for our team. I think its obvious to everybody that the position we lack of players is the STR, realistically we only have 1 Sturridge, I can really consider Balotelli and Lampert as option. But we still looking to get players where we already have some options.... An as a striker we will go and get someone for the team in BPL from position 10-18 and we will think that everything is solved....We can't score goals....we need a beast striker, Everytime we had good seasons except from th UCL season with Benitez. We had someone great as a striker. Torrres, Suarez.... etc

So it was United poor start that cost them the league.... don't make me laugh guys... you never had a chance....

This is why I will never understand some fans giving up on top four. Unlikely, yes. Impossible, absolutely not

However, the result yesterday makes me think we will only slip up more in the next 5 games

isnt the signing of depay just to cover our arses if sterling does leave.

Possibly depends who he signs for. You most probs will still go for him anyway. But Rodgers can forget this WB rubbish with Depay.

Obviously that wouldn't be the scenario we want but if you suggested replacing Sterling with Depay I'd bite your hand off

Its usually a lot worse than that when it comes to replacing our star players haha
