Balague says there has been no approach or bid from Real Madrid for Raheem Sterling and there will be no approach or bid.

Just like I don't see anyway Jose let's Cech go to either Arsenal or Utd, regardless of the lip service he's paying it; I don't think there's anyway we deal with Utd whatever you offered after the way the Heinze B/S went down.

I'd personally have no problem selling Sterling to an English club, Utd or whomever for the right price. He's not half the player he thinks he is or is made out to be. The potential's there, but he needs a **** of a lot of work to become anything like a consistent top bracket player. Just another English kid with talent who gets scandalously over hyped down to the complete dirth of English talent. All pace with little end product nine times out of ten. Woeful finisher and terrible decision maker with no left foot to speak of at all.

But I seriously doubt there's any chance of Liverpool and Utd doing any business on anyone anytime soon.

Cech to United is far more likely, partly because as his agent said, it's out of Jose's hands. Also United and Chelsea actually do business, whereas a player hasnt joined directly between United and Liverpool in 40 years.

His potential could see him becoming anything he wants, but that's not to mention he is still a very good player now.. Inconsistent but still one of our better players before all this rubbish

I like Ibe, but we have to be careful that the same over-hyping you're mentioning with Sterling is not happening already with Ibe, with him proving very little so far

We'll have to agree to disagree on how good he could become, but for me he's got a LONG way to go.

McManaman you knew from the get go was extra special. Same with Giggs and to a lesser degree before he went off the rails Lee Sharpe.

Sterling hasn't showed that level much at all. He flashed the second half of '13/'14 to his credit as he was utterly abysmal the first half of the year and was rightly dropped after the horror show at Hull. But Suarez also played a big part in that. He hasn't been helped by Rodgers insistence that he can be a striker, but he's nothing like World class potential at this stage IMHO.

Just good potential who's poor attitude on and off right through isn't doing much to fulfil that.

Fair point about Ibe but that is the respective coaches saying he's been better at every level than Raheem coming through.

Well we'll see what develops.

I'll be shocked if Chelsea sell to an English club but time will tell.

Skrtel: "I don't feel old enough to sign that type of contract. I don't have any health problems. That contract is unacceptable."
should be the first centre half out the door, just because you make last ditch tackles doesnt mean your the good.

I completely agree (he's a complete liability at the back but sadly one of the better ones we possess) save for the fact we have next to nothing to start with. So Skrtel leaving too means yet another hole to fill back there. We have what, Sakho who's been VERY up and down; Toure who no longer has the pace for the BPL, Skrtel, Coutes who never had any pace for England to start with, and then inexperienced kids who may or may not turn into something. Throw in Lovren who's been worse than abysmal and it really is slim pickings back there. ****, the idiot running the show was even playing our best box-to-box midfielder at the back last year because there was little else.

Unless FSG suddenly pony up mega money, we may well have to make do with certain players for another year at least given the multitude of holes we need to address. Skrtel being one of them.

Happy the Milner deal is completed. I really think he could shine in our team.

Well I certainly hope Skrtel stays.. Of course we can improve on him, but its not likely to happen and he has been one of our better defenders

if he is staying for experience then yes, but as a first team player then no. forget the last ditch tackles he makes. just for one match just watch him closely and im not joking but im not surprised lovren has been wank when he is playing next to skrtel. ZERO communication with his centre half partner he rushes out without informing his partner this leaves a gap behind which lovren cant cover because he doesnt know when skrtel will go skittles. another problem is he constantly drops deep meaning the whole team has to play deeper. i was like you i thought he was our best centrehalf until i watched him closely. sure popping up with goals is great and all but a centre halfss main job is too defend. for the wages he is on and the age he is at i know for sure we can do better.

Based on last season he is our best and most experienced defender and unless we have someone lined up it would be poor to let him go

hopefully the club has someone lined up. maybe give illori a go he couldnt do any worse. poor kid i have a gut feeling he will be amazing for someone else. but yeah skrtel being our best defender shows how bad the other centrehalfs we have at the club must be.

..... because he doesnt know when skrtel will go skittles .....

LOL. Great line.

Been a funny few minutes. Just had a text off a lad in Leeds In know saying we've 'just signed the Yorkshire Figo!' LOL. Never thought I'd hear Milner compared to an all time European great.

Inter director Ausilio:"Kovacic extended his contract in January, Icardi just did the same. We'll absolutely move forward with them"

I hate double posting, but this from the transfer rumour thread deserves a place here too:

If true, for him even to be 'considering' them just shows what a complete ****bag he is.

What would make it even more of a mockery, and throw City in there too; is it's been an open secret all year long here that the jumped up little ***** wanted out of the North West to return back down South.

If he winds up in Manchester it would just tell you all you need to know about him. Lying little ****.

One can only hope Utd make a formal bid and start a bidding war to net us a well over inflated transfer fee.

FSG know they can't sell Sterling to United no matter what. If they do, the fans might respond by focusing all the hate on Sterling himself, but selling a huge talent to the arch rivals is something that cannot, and will not, be ignored. Hopefully FSG are fully aware of this, and know that it will upset the fans regardless of how big of a douche Sterling might or might not be. United wouldn't sell HEINZE to us, and we're gonna let them have Sterling? It just won't happen. If it does, I will eat the parts of the cactus that Tyton shaves off.
