Did someone miss the last game of the season against stoke..... Don't think you won home and away

We beat Stoke (home).. and we beat Tottenham (home and away)... The last game of the day, as bad as it was, was a freak result and will be incredibly unlikely to happen again anytime soon

Mario's debut at 'Spurs was the best we played all year and just about the only time we looked like the previous season.

Then Sturridge went down before we next played and the season completely went to **** from there. 4 games in. Lol.

Oh, absolutely.

I LOVE that in a player. The same reason I had the utmost respect for both Shearer and Le Tissier on the multiple times they turned down Utd. Both could of one a slew of trophy's under Ferguson, and heck knows how many more goals Shearer would of scored the chances Utd created. But Newcastle is Shearers boyhood team and Le Tissier had the loyalty right through to his first ever pro club that he grew to love. Got to respect players that put their club above all else.

Can't fault Tevez at all for wanting to end his career where it all started at his club.

Just '******' as he'd of been the perfect Rodgers centre forward.

Of course, he can fit in any team, and would be a great addition to liverpool, not only as a player but as a leader also, his playstyle and will are unique, it will be hard to find someone similar

Tevez going home to Boca.

******.

That was always the case, even when ManUtd signed him he said he wants to go to Boca before he is 30. So he is year late to do that. Saying that I wouldn't be surprised to see him go back to Europe in 6 or 12 months. He was always very unstable players thanks to his agent. Always on the move.

Anyone else feel fsg have gone about this whole coach reshuffle the wrong way. its like theyve gone out of their way to undermine rodgers. Now my feelings about rodgers are well known, but if your gonna keep the man at the helm you might aswell give him your full support. its like when rodgers ends up failing come christmas then rodgers will have an excuse ready planned. either back the man or sack him. dont be half arsed about the whole situation.

mario is a virus at the club. he will never amount to anything in football because he thinks he is better then he actually is. take away penalties freekicks etc... and his career stats dont look any better then an average striker. fact is he is not as good as we all want to kid ourselves into believing.

Man that's strong condemnation and pretty much unwarranted IMHO as regards his time at Anfield.

Whatever you think of him as a player, he's not really been any trouble on or off the pitch to press. The instogram B/S was just that, B/S. For him of all people to be accused of being racist and anti-semitic was beyond a joke and purely down to the easy target he is. But that aside, he's been on pretty good behaviour with us.

And I'd argue we'd of gotten a heck of a lot more out of him if BR had played to his strengths instead of working against him when he has played him. Only a complete and utter fool would play Mario on his own up front with little to no support and expect results. Yeah, Balo's been at fault with his attitude at times last season. No argument there and he could of done more. But he has worked a lot harder in a lot of games than has been acknowledged and he's not been helped one iota by his manager.

Interesting that Sturridge and Balotelli have played a combined 258 minutes together as a partnership. Our record through those 6 games they've been on the pitch together? 4 wins, a draw and a defeat. 7 scored. 1 conceded. 3 goals between them. And they both love playing with one another. Sturridge openly gushes about Mario and what could be if and when he's fit.

Only Rodgers refuses to see the benefit of a partnership.

Dont be fooled by one game were ballo and daniel played together. one swallow doesnt make something. mario is a virus because he is a POOR football player. that doesnt play for the team, aka shooting from insane angles. for once rodgers cannot be blamed (well he can he passed up on remy to buy this shower of *****). why should we play to suit ballo style, come to think of it what the **** is his style. he cant play as a lone target man. cant play as part of a high pressure system because its not cool to run around according to balo. he is what you would call a luxury player, a **** poor one. his constant excuse everytime is he came from a harsh background. well sorry to hear that ballo but there have been many footballers who have come from as harsh as a background as you and used it as motivation to better themselves. he is on 100k plus if we can TRICK any club into buying him of us. i will be one happy bunny. rant over.

Yup, pretty much!

I know your trying to forget it, lord ive tried. but we did lose 6-1 to the mighty stoke. yes it happened.

the 6-1 was embarrasing but a freak result that I could almost guarantee wont happen anytime soon again

I know how you feel about last season but asking what has changed to suggest we can beat those teams when in the four matches we won three is very strange

Good news Skrtel's agreed to extend.

Being so bereft of body's, let alone talent, at centre half his experience (one of the very few vets. we now have), is sorely needed. And you could well make the case on that he should be, save any more moves, the captain next year.

All that said, I hope it's just a years extension. He's still a serious liability back there who often gets caught out of position and his recklessness, particularly in the penalty area, runs the line of being VERY costly most games.

Hopefully a short term extension to get us through this coming season with all the other holes we have to fill and then we can look at starting to properly address the middle the off-season after this.

And if Skrtel's still here on merit in 2016/17, he'll of upped his form and earned it so everyones a winner.

It's a long term contract according to Tony Barrett

I'd have to see how 'long term', 'long term' actually is before I commented.

Any more than a 2/ 3 year top extension would be fool hardy IMHO. Particularly if he's been bumped up money wise.

Yeah, I agree... from whats being reported its also a pay-cut but a guaranteed wage rather than a clauses based contract

Great from all points of view. He deserves that after the last 7 years.

Like you kind of alluded to, without him back there, we'd be REALLY ******!

maybe the reason were **** at the back. is because its impossible to play another centrehalf with skrtel. because of his zero communication. please someone just watch skrtel for one game, just because you make last ditch tackles doesnt make you are best centrehalf. worst desicisons we could have made imo. send him packing and play someone else with sakho
