Mourinho is a winner. No way will he have conceded the league with chelsea still having a chance to win it.

Yeah, never bought that for a second.

It was brilliant psychology. Take the pressure of your team publicly by conceding but privately, it would of been a COMPLETELY different story.

Him putting the weakened side out at Anfield was more down his arrogance in thinking he could set up any side to get the result.
And we naively played right into his hands.

Marshall's right in one way. Gerrard doesn't have the infamous slip. We go into H/T 0-0. Chelsea have to be more attacking second half and it opens up. But we should of played Jose at his own game, parked our preverbal 'bus'; and played out the most boring 0-0 ever f that was to be the case. Then we aren't chasing things at Palace and we're left with Newcastle at home.

When we won at Southampton, where we've a shocking record, was when I really started believing. And I was totally convinced we had it won all that run in. The team was flying. The crowd was bouncing. Every game was like a big *** party leading upto # 19.

Three games to go in our own hands. **** knows when we'll be that close again. As bad as it hit me, I really feel for young guys like Marshall who've never seen us lift the Championship. That must REALLY suck to come so close to your first and then have it ripped away from you within touching distance.

Sighs. Still getting over it.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.. We were blowing away teams that season, particularly at Anfield. Who say's we were capable of playing like that when all our strengths were in attack? It's easy to say this now

It was a bad bit of luck that lost us that game, which was unfortunate and so disappointing, but was the game to be replayed I wouldn't have approached it any different personally

And yes, two second place finishes and two seasons we really should have won the league that I have witnessed

**** I hope for your sakes. Ings finishing improves more than he is showing tonight!

As we currently stand, he'll be starting the season with Sturridge out until the NY. Which is a real unfair ask. Even more so as he'll doubtless be a lone striker in Rodgers wank system. It's a big enough step up as it is from Burnley to Anfield. He should be coming into a situation where he can start off the bench and be gradually worked in.

It's imperative we spend on an experienced, reliable striker.

And don't say I didn't warn yers that Italy would batter England if they find their shooting boots they left at home last time out. That's what you get when you make the boneheaded decision to leave all your best players at home.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing......

Au contraire,

Far from it being 'hindsight', it was the blatantly obvious thing to do. I lost count of the number of shouts of 'patience red men/ we don't need the win. Frustrate these *****/ keep it tight reds. Pressures on these etc etc' the Kop that Sunday.

Gerrard just reiterated today what we naively didn't do. We tactically f-ed up. And then got even more naive against Palace which wouldn't of been an issue had we not been as naive against Chelsea. But it happens and the main thing going forward is hopefully Rodgers would play the percentages in the same situation next time out.

But that's sadly passed so whatever you or I or anyone else thinks is immaterial.

Yes because Ings wont cut it atm.

Lets be honest.. You've based that on tonight's performance following your earlier post
No not really. Based that on the what I have watched for the last 2 seasons. And the fact he is making a huge step up from clubs. And I don't think hes good enough to lead the line for a top club like Liverpool!

You know that only time will tell.

@TonyBarretTimes After snaring Firmino, Liverpool have renewed their attempt to sign Clyne. An improved offer (£10.5m rising to £12.5m) has gone in.

Agree. But I don't think many are interested. You guys should just pay it, would be a good signing and improve you in a position you need!

It's taking the preverbal when Southampton have set the fee and we're coming back with minimal increases.

We're demanding City pay the full amount for Sterling. Practice what you preach.

I agree, and that's why he hasnt been bought in for that role

Liverpool look set to complete the deal for an initial fee 5million cheaper than the original asking price

It can mean you miss out on targets, and it can lso mean you get your target for less

Well played LFC

Good deal. Looks only a matter of time.

Mirror also reporting we want to conclude a deal for Carlos Bacca quickly andare prepared match his release clause

Madness. Brilliant but madness
