May sound a bit silly, but we didn't play that bad... controlled nearly all of the game and missed alot of good chances

Struggled again with a physical striker in Balde, but their goal was a complete fluke. Downing tackle put Balde clean through

Loyalty doesn't exist in football much these days, and tbh its overrated.. you are in professional sport to win things and Liverpool at the moment are not in that position

Again, no one has answered what they should have bid. John Henry actually missed the point of their bid anyway.
 
Barca have bid for Agger, we've rejected it, and we've nearly signed that full back Siquera or something

No doubt Agger would be interested, but his agent has come out and said its all on the clubs agreeing a fee... take note Luis.

Siquera and Sakho and ill be very happy with the defence.. both seem realistic and available

Then please finally buy this £20mil+ attacking player we seem to be failing with this summer!
 
Downing pretty much gone and we're in talks with Sequiera. Interesting stuff going on at the moment. Agreed that if we got the left and also Sakho at central defence (doesn't get a look in at PSG) I'd be happy with our options in defence. Question is, if Sequiera comes would we see Luis Enrique go?

Don't see how Siquera is much of an improvement to Jose...
 
I must admit I only caught a handful of matches featuring Sequeira but he is definitely better going forward then Enrique is. He's also scored 12 goals in the last two seasons for Granada which is not bad at all for a left back. Defensively speaking I'd say they're on par but as far as attacking full backs go, Sequeira seems a lot better.

To be fair, I don't think he will be replacing Jose, just adding competition, which isn't a bad thing. If we can get him for around £5m, I won't complain too much.. And if it means we don't have to play Johnson left back it will be a positive.

We definitely need to make a marquee signing though, none of our signings thus far have exactly been exciting.. But then again, we're not the only English club to be completely underwhelming their fans this summer.

Looks like Spartak Moscow is going for Alderweireld. Is Liverpool still going for him? Pretty sure Toby would prefer Liverpool over Moscow.
 
Siquira will be brought in as competiton.. we only have one recognised LB in the first team squad

I like Enrique but his form towards the back end of the season and this pre season has been very poor

Too similar to Agger... we seem to be after more of a physical presence to partner Agger
 
Let's just hope Siquera is better than Enrique, God knows we need a better left back than Enrique.

Downing's having a medical at West Ham, and Rodgers has said Coutinho will be a n.10 once we sign a winger to take his place out wide, thank God. Coutinho is no winger, and we really need a winger.
