It just gets better... The playing ban i agree with, Suarez deserves punishment but he now cannot be included in any team photos or advertising campaigns for the new kit

Advertising campaigns, team photo's, stadium ban, training and/or coaching ban. I still think FIFA have been too harsh on this side of things

I'd have given him a 15-16 game international ban tbh. Really didnt expect the 4 month global ban

This is getting ridiculous. Why do they keep punishing the club when the whole thing was completely out of its control.

I agree with you in principle but then practically, I also believe the ban will little effect. If you really want to punish him, you need to keep him away from football for an extended period of time which won't be achieved if he is allowed to play domestic games. Some of the other aspects of the ban like no training and not being allowed to enter stadiums is definitely excessive but as GC said, Suarez dug his own grave so hard to feel sympathy for him

For selfish reasons, I really wish Liverpool get rid of him. Suarez is probably the most unlike-able character in the footballing world I have ever seen

To be fair, isn't it out of Uruguay's control as well?

Why not? When he plays for them he is their responsibility. **** knows, maybe Rodgers gives Suarez special massages to make him more relaxed, and Urugay's staff weren't informed.

I wouldn't blink an eye if they gave him a year ban, but targeting Liverpool's advertising seems completely off the bat.

Technically she shouldn't even be banned from domestic games then tbh

Alcaraz, fergie never got rid of Cantona, look at what he went on & done, so as a lfc man, i hope the same happens, but then again at least eric learnt his lesson. Its a strange situation to be in because, suarez in those games he's missing, could be the difference between winning & losing, im sure he would have made a difference in those games he was missing. So this year we'll be waiting on him coming back, but if we sold him & replace him, at least we hopefully have a settled team & one were everyone is ready from the start. Then u forget that he is mental think what an amazing footballer he is & ur back to square one.

I suggested on the WC thread that he should be given a lengthy international ban but i suppose then he is still playing regularly so i can see why the global ban has been introduced

But all the added on bans such as the team photo, training ETC... Liverpool will have to pay upwards of 4 million to Suarez in wages when all he can do is sit at home and cant even train

They're not punishing the club. They're punishing Suarez, the club is getting punished by virtue of employing a cannibal.

I'd have more sympathy for them if they hadn't indulged him in his past indiscretions. And of course:

As stupid as the whole t-shirt incident was, they were backing him for a racism case that was purely word against word, so there was doubt he ever actually was racist

Not like he bit someone and they had the t-shirts out

Didn't exactly take the first biting ban on the chin, either.

You keep saying Liverpool have to pay him 4 million in wages. That is their choice to pay him that but he has a duty of responsibility to the club being an employee still even if he did do something despicable playing at the World Cup. If any of you bit someone in the street and was prosecuted against it your employee would more than likely give you the heave ho.

If Liverpool fans feel that Liverpool FC have been hard done by again then you need to remove your heads out your posteriors. Fifa is punishing Suarez by cutting off what he loves to do. If Liverpool want to pay him then that's up to them but another employee with any sense would fine him all the time he is missing from representing the club. It Was Suarez's actions that have brought this on. They should be looking to punish him also.

Playing ban I agree with to an extent.

Stadium ban, training ban, advertisement ban and team photo ban, however is petty and shouldn't be included

It is cutting off his lifeblood for what he has done for something he loves doing. It is a punishment for him so how is that petty? If Liverpool FC had any sense they would punish him also. It is the only way he will learn the club cant also pamper to him even when he brings disgrace to them as an employee.

Suarez deserves everything he gets, he's done it THREE TIMES, NOT LEARNING HIS LESSON.

You think he's gonna hardly give a scooby-doo about missing x amount of international matches? No.

Only thing he'll miss is the world cup, so he needs punishment for his club as well.. because he's not learning and keeps on doing it.

Fifa have acted right, stood up and delivered. Only thing I question was whether it was bad enough... how many of us would get away with being racist and biting someone at work? None, we'd be sacked after the first offence, so should be grateful.

Not playing for four months does that - everything else, especially the team photo is so ridiculous from FIFA

Majority of the foreign media and even the player he bit thinks this is all excessive. But yes, he does deserve the ban from playing, that i agree with fully

There's punishing him and then basically removing him from the face of the world for four months. Liverpool get the worse end of it it's quite clear to see, he can't train, go to the stadium, take part in team photos and numerous other things just strike as petty and a way of Fifa from distracting away from all the corruption stuff that's been floating around.

Most foreign media and even Chiellini himself said the ban was excessive, fifa are just alienating him further and forcing him from those who have actually tried to help him.

A playing ban has not obviously worked in the past. He has done it 3 times now and been banned from playing 3 times so harsher measures have been handed out.
