I agree - alot of rumours regarding Marco Reus in recent days... not saying we are anything close but that we will go all out for him

Dortmund 'may' be open to selling due to his 28mil release clause kicking in next season
Same thing being said about UTD.

Yeah, and Neymar cost around 40-50mil as well... turned out to be 71mil

Completely different. Neymar's case was paying all the third parties and were hidden. Not sure this transfer is anywhere close to that.

Bit same as with Hummels doubt any money will tempt them to sell. They've shown with Lewa that they can stand strong and are trying to remove the clause by offering a new contract.

He'd be amazing signing for anyone, just dont see it happening this summer.

At the end of the day its who you believe, Spain or England - Either way Liverpool have a lot to spend

I find it tough to believe that Liverpool will sell for anything below the release clause tbh. They hold all the cards in this deal and Barcelona were desperate for a marquee signing

They even pulled the plug on Reus deal to land Suarez.

So Liverpool are linked with Boney and few reports (mainly Telegraph) saying he might cost 19 plus Million. Good player but 19 Million? That's a lot for him and also not sure he fits the fast paced game Liverpool played last season.

In champions league and almost all are underwhelming signings IMO.

From what I understand the £19m figure is plucked out of thin air, as they bought him for not much less than that and he's had a superb first season. The figure seems to be closer to 25 - there really isn't much depth in the striker market right now so it's driving prices right up.

25 Million? Woah..

Ian Ayre in Seville now discussing Moreno deal, sorry if already mentioned didn't notice anything that's all.

The dificulty comes from the release clause, and the 'final amount' including a currency conversation from Euros, the additional fees involved in the transfer, and the cut which goes to Ajax (?). So whilst it is being reported as £70m+, the final value is probably somewhere in the 60s. Still a great deal of money.

It probably helps Liverpool to allow the number to be reported as lower, as it does Barcelona. Barca can say they have got a bargain, and Liverpool can say they don't have as much money as expected to other clubs as they attempt to sign players to replace him. The only negative is the fans consider it 'less than what he's worth', but frankly that matters little if this lets quality talent come in to replace him.

Emre Can playing in Leverkusen's midfield when David Moyes's United destroyed them 5-0 at their ground as well. Lol. Got the run around by veteran Giggs in midfield.

Good thing with Bony is his goal record is fantastic no matter where he has played

I would like Liverpool to sign better established players but we never seem to - I mean Torres and Suarez were nowhere near 'world class' striker before we signed them

£75million with Liverpool receiving £71.2million after clauses and payments to Ajax

What Rodgers has been doing is signing players that have the experience of playing premier league football. If you look at Tottenham they spent all that money on players from other leagues. Rodgers has seen what happened with that plan and is opting on prem expereince.

But Torres was very highly rated before he joined Liverpool, so was Suarez.

Still not sure on Bony as Lambert offers whatever Bony can. Also Sturridge is your lead striker so maybe Sturridge moves to wide forward role as I don't think Bony can.

They were good players but nothing more - both rated highly but nothing like the world class players they became, Liverpool moulded them into that

Two up front - Liverpool have changed formations on many occasions the past year and he adds squad depth, i'd actually be quite happy with Bony. His goalscoring record is excellent and in a better team creating as many chances as we do it can only continue

We're only teasing man, in all honestly United have the exact same issue, we haven't signed a top top player from across the continent for god knows how long (since Veron I think).

Admittedly we might make the odd top-class signing domestically, like Mata or RVP etc.

But usually we have the same issues and we just go for the players who not quite in that top bracket. Players like Bony are not in the top bracket obviously but then again, he never would be unless he got given the chance at a higher-level club. Admittedly it's a bit of a gamble, but it can pay off as well, like at the time when you bought Suarez.

But you don't pay 20 Million for squad depth isn't it? Yeah maybe change in tactics and if Sturridge is pushed wide I don't think he will be pleased.

Will be interesting to see which formation Liverpool play next season.

Re first point, yeah both were not world class but very highly rated.
