I didn't watch the game yesterday so I wouldn't know but did Balotelli do something stupid? All I heard was that Senderos absolutely mauled Balotelli and Liverpool were a non-event attacking wise which is incredibly surprising

Imo, Remy perhaps more reliable as a player but Balotelli has way more talent if he applies himself properly

Considering he has struggled to do it for his whole career I still have serious doubts whether it will all of a sudden happen.

The only thing perhaps in Liverpool's favour, is he surely knows this is his last chance at a big club.

this season gives Sterling and sturridge in particular the chance to step up and Sterling has already shown improvement with added responsibility in the team

add Lallana, Markovic, Coutinho and Balotelli to those two and we still have one of the best attacking units around
Will see mate. Im not sure about Balo having watched most of his career, will never be a consistent performer in my eyes. Lallana had 2 great feet and is technique is superb, but needs to up it now at Pool. Markovic excites me more than any. And we all know Coutinhos quality, but teams this season done a good job marking him out the games, but is quality no dout.

It all depends how highly you/we rate those guys.

No doubt it has frightening potential but it is just that at the moment and sometimes you don't have time to produce the goods, needs to happen fairly quickly

Had LFC got their wish and Borini left and Remy came in then i would be alot more confident but that ship has sailed

If I have to honest, Lallana, Markovic and Balotelli aren't top class, probably none of them will ever be. However, difference between first two and Balo is I can see how they could fit in Liverpool's strategy. They both have certain skills which are required to play in this Rodgers' formation. Balo? I would be amazed if he improves Liverpool one bit.

Completely agree. I would love to know what actually happened with that deal. I still don't believe for a second it was a failed medical

I thought Borini decided to stay so you cancelled it.

But obviously Balotelli was brought in, so it's strange.

That was the rumour - 'apparently' we wanted two strikers (Balotelli and Remy) but Borini decided to stay so we pulled out of the Remy deal

But only the people behind the scenes will know exactly what happened

We can go on about the Remy deal all we like but the transfer window shut two weeks ago.

Utter **** poor yesterday. Manquillo looked dodgy at times and Sakho again proves he has no ball control or composure what so ever.

The only thing you can say after the game is that it was a new team today and it'll take time to gel. Feel like I'm explaining a loss to my mate on football manager.

Every team has a bad day, We'll bounce back no need to worry, Sturridge is our main Scorer and We'll struggle without him, Balo need to start finding the net and gaining the confidence

Can't help but think if he scored that first chance he go he'd be on a few goals by now!

Don't know if true mate. Just remember when deal was close that someone said that the deal was put to Rodgers was not keen, but went ahead anyway. Might have been Souness or Carragher.

I heard it was Rodgers who wanted him even though the people around him were advising him against it, he went ahead anyway.

Another huge tactical error [IMO] by Rodgers, Balotelli clearly needs a strike partner and I think this is exactly the sort of match Lambert should be starting in. I think we will win, but starting with Balotelli up front alone will take what could have been a 3-4 nil and turn it into a scrappy 1-0 against a much weaker side. Obviously didn't learn anything from Saturday!

On a brighter note, Henderson. Absolute beast these days.

I'm pretty confident that Rodgers wanted him. Considering he has enough faith in him to play him as lone striker suggests Balotelli wasn't just dumped on him by the powers that be.

Balotelli should never have been bought imo. Might score the odd screamer and play a great game once in a while, but will never be consistent player.

I am sorry to say it but I think that the skipper should stay at bench at least for a few matches.

We are lucky today.
