Better side but creating little - Should have had a penalty and Henderson on a yellow for a clear dive but still in the game

I'd personally look at pushing Can into midfield and bringing Lovren on as Joe Allen is contributing nothing so far

Gayle has some kind of problem.

Fantastic turnaround from the lads. Created and took our chances and defended well whilst keeping possession to kill the game late on. Balotelli and Allen both did well in the second half

Hopefully Arsenal and United struggle and we get a good draw in the next round!

absolutely ******* delighted we bet those ***** we owe them a good beating wipe that smug look of pardews face.. utd or arsenal at home in the next round please

Is it right Sterling rejected another contract offer later last week? Was talking about it on SS this morning. Also mentioned something about his agent aware of interest fro other clubs?

Yep - Seems Rodgers is continuously making comments about his agent being greedy. 100K a week is mind blowing but LFC need to realise that's what its going to take as if he left today Madrid, City, Chelsea etc would easily double that

Confident he'll sign though.. owners over here now to smooth everything over

Yeah agree. Don't think Rodgers helped with the whole best youngster in Europe comment. Just ammo for the agent and player. Would be terrible if he did not sign though.

The agents would have already knew that - agents are poisonous for football. They are the big reason that contracts mean very little nowadays

Sterling should be aware thought that the likes of Suarez and Torres left Liverpool as the star players, the role models and are now seen as either bit part players or playing second or third fiddle

Sterling staying at Liverpool will be the best thing at the moment for his development

It's all about money money....As i have said before once someone realizes how important he is for the club he will take advantage of that...Sterling or his agent or both have identified liverpool's need to keep him in the club and want to take as much money as possible for that. If Rodgers fails to sign sterling a new contract that would catastrophic for his image as Liverpool's trainer. However I think that they ask way too much. obviously sterling is good player and has all the characteristics to get developed in a world class player but to be honest he hasn't done many great things yet....when sturridge was out injured in the first round he should have taken the team on his shoulder but he didn't do it....last year was suarez and sturridge that took us on the top. What i am saying is that we cannon pay him huge wages because one day he will become great. Show us that you deserve it and we will give you even more!

Age is just a number with Sterling though he's clearly one of the best players in the prem so give him what he's worth.

Oh I agree - The lad is a year younger than me and will be tripling his wages alongside being the star player of a side like Liverpool

Cant help but feel it's agent's as to the reason why a deal has not been signed

I don't think that's very fair on Suarez. He's been great for Barcelona so far and he knew he wouldn't be the top boy there and to be honest I would never call him a role model. There was a lot more at play in the Torres' decline than him leaving Liverpool. Then there's players such as Alonso who have gone on to bigger and better things.

I do agree though that Sterling should stay for now. He wouldn't get as much game time as he's getting now at a better team.

I love Sterling as much as the next guy, but if he doesn't sign a new contract he's a money grabbing troll, case closed. He has the opportunity to become one of the best paid players at a club that lets him play week in week out, that developed him into the player he is, with fans that love him.

While I can understand the ambition to play for the biggest teams out there, I can't understand the greed in wanting £200k a week. Is £100k a week too little? Will it make him poor? Will he be confined to a life in semi-luxury? Please. Let's say he earns £100k a week for the next 10 years (and I think we all know he'll make more than that), that's £52 million. Even after taxes and buying a fancy car every six months, it's still more money than you can spend. And he's still just 20 years old, he has all the time in the world to develop into a world class player - because at the moment he's still "just" a world class talent.

But to be honest, I think he will sign. And if he does, and if Liverpool hasn't won the league or isn't consistently challenging for it by the next 3-4 years, I won't hold it against him if he wishes to leave.

I think it's very fair on Suarez - I dont blame him for leaving as its Barcelona but its just a matter of fact the team revolves around Messi and if Messi is injured, the team revolves around Neymar

I just think it's a shame to see a player of his quality not be the standout player and therefore will never be the player he can be - it's a scary thought but Suarez can be even better at a side that is shaped around him

Not everyone craves the spotlight and needs to be the most important player on a team. Suarez seems perfectly happy being Pedro+++, especially when he's working with two of the best players in the world. You could say the same about Willian at Chelsea in many ways.

This would be a lot easier to explain if you played TF2 or Dota :P

That is a good point - Im in no way saying a move to Barcelona is a bad move, it just annoys me seeing him being like he was for us and then not being the main man at Barca and even being on the bench on some occasions
