That Guardiola after the 2001 semi?
Ridiculous, emotion filled week. Lost at home to Leeds on Good Friday, where we thought we'd blown the top 4. Then went had the crazy Derby Easter Monday when Gary Mac webbed in the free kick in injury time (my favourite game of the second treble winning season and the game that turned the year); Barcelona in the UEFA Cup semi the Thursday when McAllister continued what would be a fantastic late season run of goals, and then beat 'Spurs 3-1 at home Sunday with the brilliant Scot scoring again. (Part of 5 straight games he scored in. And got a song to boot lol.).
All culminating in the single best week of my footballing supporting life. Cardiff for the best way to win a Cup final you'd be completely dominated in (we owed Arsenal MASSIVELY), Dortmund for the best UEFA Cup final ever, then Charlton to clinch the last day 3rd place and last Champions League spot. It was an adrenaline filled 8 days of travel, bevy, game, party; travel, bevy, game, party; travel, bevy, game, party.
Houllier was a crank. But he was a loveable crank and he was our crank ha ha.
Fantastic memories. Thanks for that. Happy days.
