Sorry, but there is absolutely no way Rodgers and Liverpool are some innocent victim of Sterling and his agent. The revisionism around him is ridiculous and some of the character assassination comes across as bitter. Comparisions with Ibe are off since before we can even really start to say he is better, he needs to have a better season than Sterling did at senior level, bearing in mind he is only a year older.
This idea that Rodgers has been stabbed in the back is rubbish. They knew full well 2 years ago he wanted a slighty better contrac and stuck to lowballing, and missed the point they should have offered him one, and would have got a reasonable deal ie when you finished second. Should be noted the Ibe actually turned down 3 offers before accepting this deal. How much is he on now? That's right the same 35k a year that Sterling is on right now. So expect him to ask for a better offer in two years, only don't be greedy lowballers this time around.
Sterling is going to be an excellent player if the flaws can be ironed out. He most certainly will get plenty of game time, as Navas will lose out to him, he'll play CL at club who take it seriously as opposed to bottling Madrid to play Chelsea
