@DickinsonTimes What's Sterling's next move if this doesn't work? Burn the shirt? Leave a dump on the Kop? https://twitter.com/tonybarrettimes/status/618740125397331968 …

He's a horrible, jumped up little ****bag.

He's now saying he can't work with BR. The one man who's gone out of his way and been like the preverble father figure to him. There's been a **** of a lot of ****, that's been repeated on here and countered, in the media about poor little Raheem when ALL the attention and problems have been of his OWN making.

The same BR who has been passively aggressively pressuring him all season in the press to sign a new contract, neatly laying the foundations for his shock and hurt if Sterling should want to jump ship in the summer? I think both parties are acting immaturely here but the amount of hand-wringing it's causing is bordering on ridiculous now.

Pressuring him?

He answers blandly saying negotiations are on going and a very good offer is in the table when asked. Just WTF is he supposed to say? Sterling brought the figures to the table he turned down. Nobody else.

Guess what Liverpool fans! It turns out that Raheem Sterling is a victim of a smear campaign by tabloids, designed to generate hate for him! The Guardian has reported had reported that Sterling had asked Brendan Roger's permission not to be included in the pre-season tour! He also missed a day of training, because he phoned in sick! He has been honest and straightforward about the contract fiasco and Brendan's man management has been shocking!

I honestly don't know why ANY club would want to touch him. You can see him going to City, then pulling this in another few years to get a move abroad. He's one of the worst examples of entitlement that money has given the modern day player. Horrible, lying, money hungry ****bag who's not half as good as he thinks he is.

Openly turning on Rodgers today tells you ALL you need to know about the person Raheem Sterling is.

Firstly, the father figure claim is greatly exaggerated. We have no clue of their relationship. He hasn't 'turned' on Rodgers at all. Sterling has every right to be disrespected by the contract fiasco and this is the manager's fault. I don't see what sense of entitlement he has? He has a right to negotiate his contract. He's been honest and straightforward, as well as keeping the terms of his contract. Now you're saying that he's not as good as he thinks that he is. I guess that's why City are interested. Why wouldn't he want to go to a better team, with better pay? I can't blame him after the failure of this contract fiasco.

Ha. This was already known?

Sterling being sick is about as likely as staying at Liverpool

This is borderline crazy. Last season LFC fans were only too happy to praise Sterling as the best young player in Europe and England's savior. Now all of a sudden, he is no better than Ibe and just an average youngster

Liverpool have a standard club procedure of sending club doctors round. If he wasn't really sick, we would have known about it.

Rubbish. You generalise Liverpool fans over opinions of the minority.

Sterling is a fantastic player and one of our better options in the side - but his actions have been an embarrassment and he is not worth the quoted 50million or anywhere near it (In the future, he could well be but that is all for now)

Skysports have reported that he phoned in sick for training yesterday and arrived back today. Seems he genuinely was sick, else he wouldn't be here today.

All of a sudden, he's put in a string of average to poor performances over the course of a few months. He's also displayed a pretty poor attitude, on and off the pitch, which is at odds with how he had appeared previously.

Though I do still think he has real talent, and it's a shame that it's turned out this way. I'd take 50m for him without a second thought

****** ****. You're really clutching at straws on this one, aren't you?

He would have known that the standard procedure was to send doctors around the same day. Since then, we haven't heard that he was lying. Thirdly, he attended training today. Firstly, his reputation would be ruined further for lying. Secondly, he knows of the standard procedure of sending doctors, making it nearly impossible. Lastly, he attended training today, meaning that he obviously hasn't been avoiding training, else he wouldn't have turned up today.

Those that did that are you typical, modern day football fan.

He had a fantastic second half to that season to his credit (he was absolutely shocking up until the NY to the point he got dropped after the disgrace at Hull); but anyone remotely claiming anything like that was a complete numbskull running with the ridiculous OTT media hype that goes with any young English player playing well down to the dirth of top bracket English talent. That spell is the only consistent period he's lived upto anything like that hype. Before and after it's been FAR more downs than up's. He's potential. That's ALL he is to date. Nottin' like the fee we're after. Lightening quick who on his day can be a difference maker. But those day's though 3 years are few and far between and 9 times out of 10 there's no end product to go with that pace. Very one footed with a **** poor finish and he often picks out the wrong pass.

The cllub's own coaches have consistently rated Ibe the better prospect at every level coming through, so take that up with them.

All Jordan Ibe is potential. Will he be better than what Sterling flashed the season before last? Who knows, he's certainly got the right attitude to date. But the club have always rated him higher so it's understandable people would agree with that after seeing the two in action.

Sterling has carried Liverpool throughout the season at 20 years old. The whole team underperformed in the past few months. He was arguably the best Liverpool player this campaign. He had an overall successful season.

Stop laughing Phillipe Coutinho. And the second half of the year, Simon Mingolet.
