I would certainly hope so and speaking from a NW perspective, I know City are heavily into the data collection side of things and both L'pool and Utd have technical departments that encompass all that. (Which ironically was Moyes bag. Ferguson was still of the old school mindset to not fully embrace that.).

I just wonder, outside of the top end, how widespread it is and just how many clubs in England are still stuck in the past and not fully dragged into the modern game?

I think it's more of a case to do with finances. Those in the EPL are all right due to the huge tv money but the those outside barely have enough to put together decent training facilities let alone afford a full fledged analytics department

IMO you should go for Higuain any day over Benteke, would suit you a lot more. Also I can't for the life of me see Rodgers suddenly playing a more direct way of football.

Higuain would also cost a lot more than Benteke though. Easily 40mil+ which is very unlikely to be sanctioned by FSG, despite him being a better fit

I can safely say Rodgers wont change his style of play, but I'm still quite positive Benteke could still contribute well

It may not be full-time, however with this whole 'moneyball' approach of theirs, I imagine Brentford have some form of analytics department.
Arsenal have bought an analytics company for £3 million, which is why we signed Gabriel Paulista in January.

He's going to Arsenal or PSG. The reason he wanted to leave Napoli in the first place, is that Napoli failed to make the champions league.

Is that another to add to the list of 'going Arsenal' ... It's almost as long a list as Liverpool's!

That's if we pay the asking price. There's no way he's worth more than 50 mill! Imo, 40 mill is a great deal for a world starved of top quality strikers.

I said not long ago in the Arsenal Thread - You sign a top striker Ie. Higuain then I genuinely think you win the title next year.

Hmm that Telegraph story about Jovetic to Liverpool is interesting but seems doable, that would be a great bit of business, at Fiorentina he was great but never really been given consistent chance at City to build up form. I think Jovetic would be much more suited to Rodgers and Liverpool's style of play than Benteke.

Benteke for me is just going in the totally wrong direction with what you should be after from a forward. Ok the obvious answer is goals but in this Liverpool system you need the forward to be more than just that.

Jovetic has gone public with his 'hate' for living in england and he hasnt adapted that well to living here. He will most likely go back to italy. plus his injury record is horrendous. Avoid.

Liverpool emerging as favorites to sign Pedro, would be a quality signing imo

Not a chance... Cant help but feel he would want Champions League football and if he was available plenty of others would be interested as well.

This is all after 'if' he wants to leave Barca in which he has made no noises about doing so

Talent wise, Jovetic would be fantastic but his injury record is very poor

I saw on twitter, that liverpool are favs, but he already rejected the chances of joining.. i thought he signed a new contract a while back but could be wrong

Sterling continuing to be a **** then.

Denis Cheryshev and Pedro are the targets to replace Sterling once he leaves apparently

Cheryshev only seen a few glimpses of him last season on loan at Villarreal i believe, doesn't look to bad but is it what we need, I'm not 2 sure
