Delph rejecting Man City could force their hand in regards to Sterling... That quota causing a few problems for them

If the bulk of that were to be reinvested in Reus, I would literally **** a brick.

Always try to not let my mind wonder on him, but it's one that never goes away .....

There's a higher chance of Lord Bendtner not winning the ballon d'or next season. If areas was available, Arsenal. United, Chelsea. Barca, Bayern, Real and Juve would have snapped him up by now.

The only, ONLY chance we have is if we are willing to offer a price none of the others were/are willing to offer

But it is simply not going to happen, especially if any of Chelsea, Barca, Bayern or Real become interested

What do you guys mean by going to court and gaining 20m for Sterling?

If his contract run down and he left on a free transfer, he'd still be under 24 years of age Clubs that have players under 24 in the UK that leave on a free at the end of their contracts after rejecting a new one are then awarded a 'compensation' fee from the club they join as recompense for all the training etc they've invested in the player. And if the two clubs can't agree on a fee, then an independent tribunal sits and decides.

It's probable in Sterlings case that anywhere between £10-20 million would be awarded given the length of time he's been at Liverpool/ the length of time he's been a regular starter/ England caps et all.

I hope that makes sense. It's a lot simpler than I probably made it sound lol.

I see, thanks!
I think it's about the same as with PSV and Bakkali. They got a compensation aswell i think. (20M seems high tho!)

Would the price Liverpool will get also be based on the contract they offered Sterling?

You both continue to sell L'pool short on the Continent.

For a start, Reus would NEVER join Munich. He's open about that as a Dortmund boy. With him coming from there, and being of a very similar mentality to Klopp when you read any interviews he gives, I doubt London would attract him like other foreigners particularly. So that levels it with Chelsea and Arsenal. And Mourinho aside, for a lot of traditional European's like Reus, Liverpool is a club they hold far higher than either of the other 2. ****, staying in the North wasn't the only reason Milner never seriously considered Arsenal and a reported higher wage offer for a recent example. And we are only one year removed from finishing second. With a major German addition added this summer. Utd is a wash outside of a player wanting ore in wages. An Italian club? Behave. Barca and Madrid I'll grant you.

But the point being although Champions League football is a big factor to players that we can't offer this year, the club is still a highly attractive prospect. And not many clubs look after it's players better. Players and agents Europe wide know that.

Not many players we've been in for the past decade say that have chosen to go elsewhere outside of the attraction of London and higher wages. But those players that have gone to lesser clubs for a higher wage packet aren't the characters you want anyways.

Just because successive managers have been boneheaded enough to shop in the mid tier, squad filling range instead of going all out and making the major splash we've gotten this bizarre labelling of being 'unattractive.'

It's a hypothetical as it's not happened, but I'm **** sure we'd be high on Reus' list if we we're in and he wanted a move away from Dortmund.

Your welcome mate.

I honestly don't know what the deciding factors are if it goes to tribunal.

The two clubs normaly put forward what they value the player at, and the reasons why; and they work it from there. There's no 'set' structure like UEFA/ FIFA have in such issues.

And yeah, I'd be shocked if they came out at £20 million too. I\d suspect somewhere more toward 10 would probably be the outcome.

But hopefully it doesn't get to that stage.

There's no way that compensation would reach anywhere near 20 million. It always ends up much lower than that.

Just an example of how stats can be both useful and misleading depending on how you use them.. (This came from the amount of stick Coutinho got over his stats)

Lol, that's just selective use of stats. Just selected in which Joe Allen did well. Check chances created, key passes, goals, assists also and you see Bastian has twice better stats.

Using stats like Fouls committed just proves that.

I don't look at stats. I watch the ******* game.
Old school... Unfortunately for you, stats are part of the modern game

I see, thanks!

I have no idea how it is calculated and that amount was a complete guess, but Sturridge was 6.5million and Danny Ings is likely to be more than that

Just from those alone I cant see how Sterling would not command a fee of the very least 15million or so

That was exactly my point.. Don't worry, I wasn't actively comparing the two

Apparentlyy the team fly this afternoon and Sterling is unlikely to go

Quite a few seem to think it will reach 50mil depending on success which Liverpool will accept

He will become the 11th most expensive transfer ever. Crazy

It's 40m with 4m in performance bonuses. That's from tony Barrett, so that will be the best source

40m is good for Sterling still but the question remains, who the **** are you going to replace him with? You've now lost your 3 key players in 2 seasons? Gerrard, Suarez, Sterling.
