No plan today or should I say no plan b.

Or even no character.

Defo no character. He had a plan and at least tried to change it. Just the players where disgraceful in their efforts.

The only real question I'd have of Rodgers is why you take Firmino off after Phil's been sent off. Why have no playmaker on?

But the players let everyone down today. That output is TOTALLY unacceptable.

2 weeks to sort it out and get back on track.

I have to disagree. When you play west ham at home, you know they will defend deep you don't start with gomez and bench Moreno. Also the coutinho and firminho was trapped in the middle of the pitch by the number of players west ham had there. They should come to the flanks more often. But that's only my opinion.

Can anyone give me a worse centreback pairing than sktrel and lovren. Because I cant think of any.

No width, again. I don't mean wingers, but players pull wide into space. made it easy for West Ham to defend.

And Lovren is still utter *****.

Working backwards ..... He is. Absolutely. They won't have an easier game to defend all year. There wasn't.

But to run with the above and get this off my chest, it wasn't by design. The players let the manger and everyone else down today. He set out to push the fullbacks on. Then switched to wingbacks the second half to get behind West Ham. But when we'd no pace and movement, his plans went out of the window.

Yeah, the buck ultimately stops with him and I'm never slow in coming forward when he deserves criticism But I feel far more let down with the players attitude than the manger today.

Hopefully it's a wakeup call to get back at it after the break. (From our POV. Not yours. :P.).

You have to ask Scouse, IIRC he said your CB pairing is as good as any in the league bar 1 or 2 teams. ;)

Lovern is a poison and still can't believe Sakho is not playing. Injured?

Apparently Sakho was struggling with injuries towards the end of last season and didn't train fully in pre-season due to his wife giving birth

Could be the usual local journalist rubbish but that's what they said. That Lovren mess yesterday is a good enough reason alone to be dropped now, though.

Your recollection is terribly off.

I've been saying all summer on here I believe everything will fall down on the 'keeper and centre backs, who are both (positions) among the worst in the league and should of been the first attended to in the transfer market. For two seasons running now.

Provided Utd don't get something at Swansea later (and even if they do, that gaps still just 1 game); we're right where we wanted to be going into the break. Level (or in touch) with Arsenal and Utd. Having already played at one of those teams. With the added bonus of being a game ahead of Chelsea. (Although I still don't see anything other than a 2 horse race between them and City so 'bonus' is all that is.).

It's just stinging after the total shock of yesterday's complete 'non' performance in every aspect. Made even more galling by the great start, coming off the back of the fantastic showing at Arsenal; and, with no disrespect intended, getting our ***'s handed to us by a very average side with a shocking record at Anfield.

But we've 2 weeks to regroup now and get back on track. Hopefully this was just a blip. If a highly embarrassing wake-up call.

All in all a more than satisfactory start to the year. I had us down at 6 points at this stage. (Expected losses at Stoke and Arsenal and 2 home wins.). So ahead of schedule there. A lot of positives to take out of the first 4. (Yesterday's disgrace aside.). With still some adjustment and work to go.

But we CAN'T be dropping home points so freely in games we have no right to lose going forward or else we've NO chance of progressing back into the top 4.

Not sure it was great start for Liverpool. Their performances was poor in all games bar Arsenal and two games ended with lucky decision from Linesman.

Good thing for Liverpool is points on board is the only thing that counts and they have it but it was not a great start performance wise at all.

Why is Lovren still playing?
If he has any shame he should retire, a disgrace(new to this forum but I support Liverpool)

Don't think anyone has said it has been great performance wise on here outside of the Arsenal game. Stoke was very solid, if unspectacular on the opening day. Bournemouth, particularly second half, was very poor.

But then outside of City, none of the top 5 have started well in that regard. But that's normally the way the first 5 games or so of the year whilst everyone is getting fully match fit/ readjusting to each other/ new players and formations being integrated et all.

Performances take a back seat to results.

Welcome to the boards. It can get a bit heated, but it's mostly a good bunch.

Rodgers (or the powers that be), trying to justify the fee they over paid and deluding themselves into thinking he'll come good?

Not got a clue and couldn't justify it I wanted to. We're all as lost as each other on that one mate.

What's even more frightening is he looked the most solid the first two games. Which tell's you all you need to know about Skrtel.

The performances from every team bar Man City have been inconsistent and quite poor

Performance wise it has been average at best, but we have some points on the board and are in a decent position heading into the international break

As bad as Lovren has been for you, the amount of hate he takes from the "fans" is awful. People have abused him so much on social media that he's shutting his accounts down.

Disgraceful.

Those 'fans' (term used VERY loosely) are an absolute embarrassment and don't deserve the time of day. Stones has been getting abused in the street as another example of low life A/holes. A 21 year old kid who'd been put in a terrible situation by his agent.

I will NEVER understand that mentality. And everyone of them should be prosecuted to the full extent they can be in an ideal World.

I'm sure I said the same thing. Points matters and Liverpool have that.
