Bit confused about the illori sale. The kid was promised first team football over the summer and then is sold in a hurry on deadline day. You would think he would have a chance of getting into the team against lovren and skittles.

'Promised' first team football? You sure on that mate? Not disbelieving you. Just real surprised, to say the least, if that were the case.

As much as I love youngsters coming through, he's obviously showed nothing like on a consistent basis to even dislodge the garbage we have back there. Which isn't a promising sign in itself.

The main prospects I think we'll be pushing this year that have both dominated at U-21 level and showed in limited first team action are Rossiter and Teixeira. I can see both those playing a part in the Europa in particular and being more integrated into the league squad if they continue progressing as they are. Teixeira in particular looks a very promising prospect who seems to be handling the step up well.

Those are the main two (and maybe Sinclair if he ends up staying) that they seem to see as the best chances to breakthrough.

It was mentioned by his dad his agent who said lfc stopped him leaving in the beggining of the year because brendan rodgers ( why he would trust his word i dont know) promised his son first team football. Anyway its a win win for villa they get him on loan and if he plays good they get to buy him outright. Wether he is good enough i believe he is but then again how can we know when the kid hasnt even made a single first team competitive appearence for us. We cant just assume he is ****, skittles has made 200 plus appearences yet he is still making the same mistakes he was making at 22. Meh.

He won't, but I'd be playing Sakho and Gomez as a central partnership the Europa and Lge Cup, with Moreno filling at LB; with the hope that by season's end, I'd have a back four of Clyne and Flanno at FB, and Sakho and Gomez at centre half.

And Sakho would defo be back in for Utd in place of Lovren. Muddle though with Skrtel there the league for now, but be aiming at transitioning to Sakho (or any addition better in January) and Gomez before the years out.

And then next summer, really address 'keeper and defence.

Yeah thats exactly what i was thinking. Should have addressed the keeper issue this year. Begovic was ****** available. ****** that we offered skittles a new contract though should be aiming at transitioning him out but looks like were stuck with him.

I do rate Begovic, but surprisingly has looked a bit shaky at times at Chelsea

1 more year mate. 1 more year.

Provided Danny comes back healthy (big 'if' I know), and Benteke and Ings are what we hope, we're sound up front. And we have great options behind now. So next summer's window should be defence heavy.

1 more year.

The whole team looks bereft of confidence so maybe thats the issue. Surprised we didnt have a look at germany they have so many excellent keepers.

That's what the Arsenal fan said :P

Apparently Enrique had to disable his twitter and instagram following abuse from fans. Online fans nowadays are fecking terrible people aren't they?

Honestly can't understand the mentality of absolute cretins, to be kind, like that.

I completely despair with certain people at times.

And it's highly embarrassing to the rest of us when they are associated with ones club.

The horrible thing I've found is that Rodgers has changed from trying to play beautiful football and failing, to now trying to just lump everything up to Benteke.

Watching that West Ham game on Saturday was depressing, I didn't feel like we would score once.

playing 5 at the back and Lucas when chasing a game also hurt my eyes.

Can't see a way back for him. Which is his own fault but also the fault of a lot of our fans. We don't have strong enough Wingers to play one up front, but it's not being addressed.

This whole transfer committee bollocks has now really took it's toll on the squad. Two very different ideas mixed into a starting XI.

Hoping Sturridge coming back will change our style. Because right now something has gone.

Give Rodgers these next few games and if it fails get rid in my eyes, I'm still of the belief that this is not entirely his fault, but it's certainly not working with him.

..... Wouldn't fancy that trip to Russia either if I was you!

Just now decided to swerve Kazan. With the hoops you have to go through and expense for the Visa now and pain in the *** flight connections and fair alone it was running at well over £400 before you even start on spends there and rooms. Just couldn't justify that lol. Only the seriously hard core few will be making that one. But we've a couple of boss trips in Bordeaux and in particular Switzerland to look forward to all sorted so I'm happy the way it's come out.

REAL sorry you had to endure that utter ***** against West 'Am man. I was thinking about yer. Hopefully it is a million miles different the other games you're going.

Level on points with United and Arsenal, whilst ahead of Chelsea, Tottenham, Everton and Southampton

Seems silly to overreact that much when we have started the season fairly well (It was only the manner of the West Ham defeat that has changed some people's thoughts on that

Yeah good decision!

I know typical isn't it. Havent been in ages and that's what I got! Sat right next to the West Ham fans too!

"Where's your famous atmosphere was sang a lot, and with good reason, it was dead!

Another reason why I pick and choose nowadays. One thing you always used to be able to rely on, even if the game was ****, was a good time on the Kop with yer mates. But even that's gone. Yeah, on our day, we can still raise ourselves to make Anfield unmatched. But those days are becoming fewer and further between. Like you say, the average game now it's like a morgue. No different to any other PL ground.

And over the last few years, with the way prices have gone and the different class of supporter the club want who'll spend a **** load in the shop; the amount of 'day trippers' at home games has to be seen to be believed and is highly embarrassing.

I honestly believe the club would be happy to have 45 thousand business men in suits sat on their hands so long as they'd paid the money and filled the stadium.

I don't for one minute think he will, but I'd play Ings and Benteke next time out and really go at their weak heart.

Same back four sans Sakho for Lovren. Then a diamond with Lucas sat protecting them, Milner and Can, and Firmino at the head of it. With the latter three adaptable to pull wide into a 3 as and when, and Can filling in when Joe and Clyne push on. With Firmino the main playmaker I don't think we'd miss Coutinho as much as we fear this one.

That's how I'd be preparing the next two weeks anyways.

Play our game and let them worry about us.

I'm curious about Teixeira. I haven't seen much of him but he seems pretty talented, but he's already 22 isn't he? And we got rid of Suso, who was same age, same position, and by all accounts more talented? Or is Teixera the better player?

I think the better way to describe Teixeira as opposed to Suso is 'stronger' player rather than 'better' per se.

Been real impressed in the limited times I've seen him (down at Fulham the other year and friendlies), and he's certainly well thought of within the club. FWIW, friends (with more time on their hands than me lol)who actually go down and watch the U-21's say he's been the best of the group ever since we signed him. And by all accounts he really stood out on loan at Brighton under Sami.

Real excited to see him as a big part of at the least the League Cup and Europa League squads this year. And hopefully he becomes more involved on a league basis.

BIG year for him and to a lesser extent Rossiter. They both need to take the next step now.
