To be honest it'd be kind of ironic to see Rodgers call out on a lack of commitment and effort. Because even if it's true in this case, he still carries the responsibility. He was the one who let Benteke get isolated, put Ings out of position, had Can closer to Benteke than Firmino, and in general lacked anything resembling a plan. So even with commitment and effort from the players, we'd still lose. And that's on Rodgers.

Oh I think he had a plan - It was just absolutely terrible and the wrong one haha

Watching Sunderland play Tottenham right now, and Sunderland are just creating chance after chance, with Borini, amongst others, playing a couple of exquisite passes. So why can't our superior players, on paper at least, do this? It has to be the system right?

2 Worldie's and one very fortunate goal that shouldn't of stood is all we have to show for 4 and a half utterly ***** performances.

That was basically our formation yesterday. (Lovren for Sakho and Can switched side with Milner aside.). Ings as a left winger, and at times left wing back beggered belief. Firmino having absolutely no defined role equally. And the gap between Benteke and anyone else around him gets bigger by the game. (Oh how Mario copped for that last year ..... ).

Yeah, there's something inherently wrong with the current manager and his system/s.

It was almost like a 4-1-4-1 at times... I understand trying to play on the counter but even when we got on the ball there was little pace to counter with and because we were so deep United got back into position quickly.

Not to mention Benteke was constantly isolated because of how deep we were

Then say nothing. Simple. He never had to mention that.

But when you stand up there and bold faced lie it's an insult to everyone's intelligence that has watched something completely different.

Sick of the B/S managers and clubs come out with.

What do you want him to say when the media sticks the microphone in then? He can hardly just stand there and show his pearly whites while quote hungry journalists continuously pester him

Yes it is indeed annoying for the average fan. I was ****** yesterday at Mourinho's comments as well. But at least this way, the ridicule is aimed towards Rodgers/Mourinho. Say nothing or worst still, criticize the players and the pressure will mount on the team for the whole week

How about the players accept their failings and publicly hold their hands up as well? Moyes was a complete and utter clown. But at least he was an honest clown the majority of the time. Particularly at Everton. They played ***** and didn't put it in, he told it like it was. And he got the response from his players. Screw hurting their feelings. You and they disgrace everyone, tell it like it is. Or at the least don't tell it like it wasn't.

Sorry man, I get where you're coming from, but I'm sick of the constant B/S and excuses from managers and clubs. We're liable to get it all again this week when he (more than likely) puts out a wank side in Bordeaux.

I think the Derby on the 4th will make or break Rodgers position tbh. If this was Football Manager his position would barely be in the insecure phase it would be very insecure. IF the derby ends up being a Liverpool loss-IF-I think he could get the axe depending on the severity and circumstances of said loss. However if it's a win I think he'll get a stay of execution-again dependant on the margin of victory and manner.

Players should hold their hands up and admit they underperformed. What I am advocating is that the manager simply cannot throw them under the bus. Especially not someone like Rodgers who has won nothing and is barely hanging onto his job at the moment. Yeah Moyes criticized his players so no wonder he never lasted more than a season at a major club. Managers like Jose and Ancelloti will hardly ever come out and criticize the team, they will either deflect or say something ridiculous like how they deserved 3 points so the media focuses the attention on them and not the team. That's why they have lasted so long at the top

Seriously. If we tip up at Goodison like we did yesterday, it will be outright carnage the away end.

He has next to NO support now. Losing the Derby so soon after losing to them his position would be all but untenable and the reaction would be beyond ugly.

But we have Carlisle to and their sold out near 6K fans to face yet the Lge Cup .....

Of course the 'Elephant in the Room' that nobody is mentioning is his players quit on him last year and tried their damnedest to get him out of a job so honestly f-them if I'm him. I can't motivate them. I can't get much of any response out of them, F-them. If I'm going down, I'm telling it honestly like it is.

He wouldn't be looked upon any differently. Honestly don't think he's gonna' be a manager anywhere again anytime soon. The coaching route is his best hope of staying in the game.

Just remember you guyz still have thursday night football to look forward to

and you know tedious it can be...i use everton from last season as a reference point so its only going to get worse...

With two brilliant trips to Bordeaux and Zurich/ Sion <Conthey>/ Geneva, with boss train rides on both, Thursday night works way better than the repetitive Tuesday/ Wednesday Champs Lge. venues. The football's just an irritant to that. :P.

But that's just moi. (H).

Gerrard also said in his book he would like to manage the club one day, with Carragher or Alonso his assistant.

You have to dream a little about that, don't you? haha

And if he does that, he will not get a job at a top club for a long time. Unless you got a roomfull of trophies, no big club is willing to take a chance on a young manager who will lose his head under pressure. There are many things you can criticize Rodgers for but criticizing him for his media comments is silly because I genuinely can't see what else he could have said that would have been better

Again, say nothing on that and talk on something else.

We aren't going to agree here. In principle we do. We just disagree on the instances of those principles.

His foot in mouth syndrome is one of the awful qualities he has. He is forever embarrassing himself with the media.

We were just saying Sat'day evening can't remember as many hammering's as we've had under him.

To be honest, it's got to the point where even if Rodgers won the league at LFC it would be someone else's accomplishment... I cant see any improvement because the majority of fans have decided

A few more games like the absolute horrors/ disgraces of the last 2 when there's been absolutely NOTTIN' and it'll be FSG deciding.
