Yeah, but do we have any of that calibre? Phil maybe. But he's a way's to go in the consistency stakes. Not sure what Firmino is. False 9 is when he's looked interested. Klopp would certainly get the best out of him again.

One can dream.

Not disagreeing that he's a class above, though Firmino's Bundesliga record might actually be better than his. Coutinho definitely blows hot and cold, but you'd probably rate them Gotze > Coutinho > Firmino > Lallana when on form, though with little difference between the first three. Let's just hope Firmino can find that form some time soon.

It's also good to prepare for a possible transfer from Coutinho to another club. Wasn't Juventus interested last summer?

Barcelona has been the constant link. But his form this year has been nowhere near that level so unless it was on the cheap, that 'aint happening anytime soon.

If anything was to happen on Gotze, it'd be the summer and more than likely down to whether we had Champions League football next season as Marshall noted.

But it does make you wonder.

Götze is certainly injured enough for LFC. Unlikely to come back before February. But seriously: could well happen in the summer

Another one from a decent Bundesliga source. I'm leaving this one before my mind runs away with me.

Back to reality and Jose Enrique tonight .....

It would in that respect, and I'd love to see Gotze play for us but we have a surplus of number 10's already. Sure he's versatile, can play both wings and up front, but his career best form was as a number 10, he hasn't replicated that at Bayern yet because he doesn't play there.

a narrow 4-2-3-1 works a treat for me on FM!

Coutinho - Firmino - Gotze
Sturridge

One can dream indeed. (on Sturridge being fit as much as Gotze being signed!)

If Gotze is going to happen, it won't be until summer I am sure, and likely CL dependent.

No question that would be an amazing lineup, but it's Sturridge who makes that work with his movement. Put Benteke there and all four of them will play poorly.

In addition, Coutinho needs to stop shooting from range. I'd even consider playing him on the right of the three rather than the left, so that he can't cut inside and shoot so often, and instead has to look for the killer ball, which we know he is capable of provided he has a striker making the right runs.

What roles are you using? Actually never thought of a narrow 4-2-3-1 :)

Despite all the injuries I am really looking forward to seeing a lot of youth players tonight. Specially Ojo and Ilori.

It would be a really weird move for them too. Where would he play? As a rotation on the wing, or as a technical player in the middle who would be lined up to slowly phase out Iniesta would make sense but, er, they kind of just signed that exact player in the form of Turan. Would be very odd to see them going in for Coutinho.

Coutinho will play as Left wing forward when ManUtd complete Neymar signing this summer :P

Back to rafa system.

I really like the Rafa system but we dont have the players here - it would be dropping Henderson and Can deep and relying on them to be disciplined

I usually have an advanced playmaker, shadow striker and a normal attacking midfielder.. for obvious reasons, a goalscoring , a playmaking and a all-round hard working att mid

I gotta be honest, I don't think I even know who Stewart and Masterson are. Will be a very interesting match, and could really go either way.

Yeah had a cheeky tenner on Exeter tbh, mainly because of that lineup, and exeter where 5/1

I am strangely confident for some reason.. All players with something to prove and some of them have been impressive out on loan at higher clubs than Exeter

C'mon you Reds.
