Eh, the head injury issue is being completely overblown by the media.

There's 10s of millions of people playing this game, every week for last 50 years or more. If it was really so dangerous, life-threatening and widely common, people who died while playing football should by now fill the cemetery the size of New York City.

Not to say that it needs to be ignored, but all the mass hysteria is unwarranted.

Of course you can overblow the concussion issue. The way things are going, they'll have people playing in helmets sooner rather then later. And that would definitely be going too far.

What would be the issue with all goalkeepers wearing "helmets"...? I guess serious head injuries are funny to you?

I don't think people in general realise how fragile our heads are.

Maybe I'm more sensitive down to a previous relationship with a nurse who drummed it into me? Maybe it's down to having a good friend in Dallas die after he hit his head hard at work, never went the ER, with nobody including him realising he'd been concussed, went home that night (he lived alone); went to sleep and sadly never woke back up?

All I know is you DON'T f*** with head injuries and there's nowhere near enough mandatory regulations in place in soccer right across the board. From big clashes of the head when players shake it off and play on through medical staffs on the field not realising a players been concussed and letting them continue to play and players that have been diagnosed not having a long enough spell out often before they're straight back in the action. Headaches or warning signs be damned. We need you out there **** it!

It's gotten better, but the protocol that should be in place is nowhere near the levels it should be.

He took a knee to the face and had a skull fracture. Not exactly the same thing as bashing heads with somebody.

Why stop there? All injuries are bad, so let's have all the footballers play in full-body medieval plate armor.
 
Jesus Christ, you guys are overreacting with head injuries. I had head injury when I was a kid, hit my head against steel pillar and I'm perfectly normalsdkfasdfals\ .................sg
