Being as 3-3 is the current score of the week for both teams, let's enjoy the original two 3-3's.

First Kenny's great '88 side (Biggest regret in football for me. The European ban depriving that side of what would doubtless of been 2 or 3 more European Cups. That side against Sacchi's Milan of the 3 Dutchmen would of been a purists wet dream); surrendering a 2 goal lead to 10 man Utd Easter Monday '88. Funny before the game when they had our players run down the Utd fans the Anny with flowers, and Utd run down the Kop with footballs in a vain attempt at peace. (Hostilities were particularly bad at that time between both sets of fans. And that day was murder after with Everton out looking for Utd too. Happy Easter indeed ..... ). Only for all the balls they kicked in the Kop to come raining back down at the Utd players and Utd fans refuse the flowers the other end.

And then one of the best ever Premiership era games as we came back from 3 down against eventual Champions Utd in one of the single best atmosphere's I've ever witnessed the old place. Even the Manchester Evening News was gushing about the noise and flares on the Kop. Which from the MEN and that absolute *** Meek at the time was high praise indeed. Remember Schmeichel coming down the Kop before kick off and not looking up at all until he went to move some bog roll out the area and just gave a little glance. (Not what's on the clip. Just before that the other side.). And his face was drip white with fear with upwards of 20 thousand baying for his blood! Then Robbie missed a sitter early, and suddenly we're three down within 20 minutes! Then Nigel Clough reappeared after going AWOL for about 3 months and the rest is history. Felt like winning the League, European and World Cup rolled into one coming out after that lol.

If the game Sunday is even a quarter as good as those two affairs we'll be in for something REALLY special.

Mignolet has probably had a few bangs on his head. My time spent watching Liverpool play has led me to believe this theory.

Normally hate the Utd game. (Just get too nervous and been bitten too many times over the years when we haven't deserved to be.).

But really confident we'll lick them Sunday. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet with that meff in goal but something like 3-1. Firmino must be sky high on confidence the minute and if we start like we did Wednesday and carry that momentum over, with the crowd as buzzing, we might well put these back in their place.

Be very disappointed if we don't as this is a very average Utd side.

Have a nasty feeling we're going to go from a high and get brought back down to earth, it's rare that I'm optimistic ahead of a United game, but that's not going to stop me interrupting my Melbourne holiday and dragging my friends down to the nearest pub to watch the game at 1am!

Love that passion from you guys.

Been the other side of the World in the States and had to be up early in the AM around 6 at times to catch a game. But never the opposite end of the spectrum late at night/ the ?VERY early hours of the morning.

Not sure how I'd pace myself the afternoon and evening to cope with that haha.

I am really bad at sleeping early/really good at staying up late, and we're going to the MCG (first time ever, can't wait!) for the cricket beforehand, which will probably finish around 10.30 or 11 so it won't be too hard :)

I find it harder to wake up for an early game, but I try :P

I understand the pain man. All the midweek games starts at 1:30 AM for us and we end up playing 0-0 most of the times.

That sucks man! Where are you from?

For me the midweek games are usually at around 6-7 am, whereas a normal weekend game is around 2-3 am. An earlier or later kickoff on the weekend rather than whatever the standard time is (3pm?) usually suits better.

I'm from India. For me the normal weekend games are at very good time. Saturday evenings, only midweek games and CL games are bit pain.
 
Ugh. Sunderland completely collapsed again at Tottenham.

No other thing for it. HAVE to go out and beat Utd now.

Yeah. Top 4 is that wide open this season that it's got nothing to do with quality now, it's about who can grind out the best form.
 
Of course this happens right after we had a 10 pages debate about head injuries.
 
I really like Can, but he must be dropped for at least a short period for his own good.
 
By some distance the worst Man Utd side I have ever seen play at Anfield, but all that matters is the three points

League season over and if we can't get anything from the other competitions it could well become one of our worst seasons in recent memory
 
Just goes to show how much we lack a finisher. I thought we played well, created some good chances, but same old story.
