Their standards are a complete joke.

They rightly clamp down on racist chanting. They rightly clamp down on political chanting. ****, they laughably did City for booing the frigging Champions League anthem. Yet something so obvious and widely condemned as that they do nothing.

Exactly the same this coming Thursday when you just know/ fear our little ****** will respond in kind. When if that happens L'pool should be sanctioned too.

Same with the elbow. Irrespective of the ref missing it and Can down playing it after, how can they not act on something so blatant?

No matter who's in charge, UEFA are as corrupt and ineffective as ever.

Great for you that Fellaini's not banned though, terrible for us. XD

I bet you it was part of a massive plan, get Can to play it down, pay off a couple people in UEFA and then hope he doesn't get injured before the second leg

My suspicion is that since they started Fellaini in the FA Cup they will start Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger instead against us.

Here's to hoping the travelling Kop make their voices heard with a UEFA chant. That'd be fun. And hey, as long as the match officials don't mention it, UEFA are obviously completely powerless to do anything about it.

What's utterly ironic about that is the ref. is not only supposed to be concentrating on the match now, he has to note what's happening off the pitch too?

You couldn't make the **** up UEFA come out with if you tried.

I actually would prefer he missed it... Anfield in the league we conceded due to an initial Fellaini header and against you's last week the only real chance was a Fellaini header.

It's our weakest area and Fellaini's strongest

Uefa spokesperson has confirmed United will not be punished for the incident because the chanting was not mentioned in the match officials' reports.

So as well as refereeing the games (which they're already ***** at) they also now need to listen to the chants of both supporters?

Yes, and as reported by BBC: "Officials are set to pay closer attention to chants at Old Trafford."

Why can't they just, you know... LISTEN TO IT AFTER THE GAME? gkjsafdyasdilf

What has been great in the aftermath of the first leg is the amount of decent United fans on social media and not least the club who've completely distanced themselves and condemned those in question. Yet UEFA swerve it under another spurious excuse.

The Echo comment that UEFA have 'failed in their duty as a governing body' sums up that clown show perfectly.

You just hope and pray our knobs don't respond Thursday as you fear they will.

Talking of United, just reading that on this day in 1936, Sir Matt Busby made his Liverpool debut. He played for 5 years until WW2 cut his career short, making 122 appearances and captaining LFC. He then returned to coach for a year after the War, being released so he could take over at Utd in '45.

Great manager and an even better human being. True legend of the game.

UEFA are a complete and utter joke. Fellaini escapes a ban for the elbow and no action against Utd for the 'behaviour' of their support.

How do you begin to eradicate both when they're both so blatantly obvious and you do absolutely nottin'?

Why is neither a surprise?

Yet you get fined if you boo the Champions League anthem!

To think Markovic got a 4 game ban for that nose flick in the Champions League last season too!

Completely forgot about Markovic against Basle. Great point.

Uefa are ****. Until we start going back and dealing with things retrospectively it will never change. **** me all they have to do is adopt rugby league system of putting people on report then gets dealt with by a panel and retrospective bans.

Have you not seen his first touch recently?

His passing range is nothing to shout about either but suppose thats opinions!
It's usually excellent but then again like you said its all about opinions. I just feel it's a shame that fans rip into a player who is carrying a severe injury and needs to learn how to cope with it. Just my two cents.

Why on earth would you want fellaini banned. It means in all likelyhood he plays in the second leg, which means that United play with 10 men. Praise Van gaal!!!. XD

Is it really that bad?

I'd rather wear that then hold up a banner with another teams iconic gates. (H)

Talking of ..... You see they moved up from the plazzy flags (must be knackered now), to freebie scarfs Sat'day? XD.

Yeah to be fair I wouldn't say i was ripping into him. I do like Hendo, but I just feel the last two seasons hes declined as a player, a lot too.

I think there are two areas of a footballer to judge now. An off the ball footballer and an on the ball footballer, for me you need to be good at both top be a regular starter at our club. And when you watch Henderson now he isnt given the licence to run around as much, or whether it is down to his injury, I find he looks very ordinary on the pitch.

But he's a Liverpool player so I'm hoping he gets better again and although we have a moan now and again, I will always be behind him.

I'd just love to see a bit more quality in the midfield!
