Cool. Another question, especially as Ive never been to Liverpool before, what would you recommend we do about parking?
Phew. This could be tricky as you don't know the area at all. And I'm **** at directions lol, but let's try simplify.
Coming up from Stoke, I'm presuming you'd go M6/ M62. In which case when you come off the end the 62, follow the City Centre signs under the fly over over onto the ring road (Edge Lane) and follow that straight on until on your left you'll see the 'L'pool Innovation Park' (not long after you've passed Franky & Benny's and a little retail park your left)..... Turn right opposite where the entrance to that is on your left, then take the first left, follow that road down the end (they'll be a church on your right), and turn right. You're now basically on one straight road up the ground. You'll see the Sheil Park pub on the corner directly over the cross roads, just keep straight forward onto Sheil Road and follow that straight down. (You'll pass Newsham Park on your right.). Keep forward across the cross road there (with West Derby Road) straight down to Breck Road with the George Pub on the corner. Now, in the car from there I would go straight across again onto Oakfield Road and follow that straight down to the ground the back the Kop, keep on going until you see the 12th Man Pub, and turn off and park up on one of the side streets after the 12th man.
You guys though might be better turning right at the George, and either look at parking on one of the side streets off there, or keep on down until you see a shut down big pub on your left, The Cabbage Hall; and either turn left there onto Walton Breck Road and there's a secure school where you can park on your left (the grounds straight on); or right at the junction after the Cabbage and park up on that road. (You'd then go straight on until you hit West Derby Road, turn left onto it and either straight down back to the Ring Road or cut through Old Swan for the motorways.).
There is a secure big car park Stanley Park the back of the ground (not sure what they charge), but you could well get boxed in there after. Street parking (providing it's not too close to the ground where there's a lot of residents only) is pretty good provided you're early enough. And if some little scrotes asks to 'mind yer car mate', give them a few quid. Easiest and safest option.
Seems drawn out but it's the simplest way I could think for someone that's never been before. Shrugs.
