Modern day excuses mate. The PL era is littered with them.

My view: Success breads success. You're playing Sat'day/ Wednesday/ Sat'day (or whatever stupid day we now play), you're hardly training. Players would rather play than train.

Glad we've had Klopp who's attitude, as much as he's narked at the lack of training ground time until lately, is 'that's football, you just get on with it. ' Whereas Rodgers would of beating the 'too many games/ tiredness/ look at all my missing key players et al'l drum until he wore it out!

- They seem to think all players want CL football so we'll lose signings, but Pep as a draw will offset that.
- The loss in CL money isn't the loss it used to be, we've no debt and are in the black since last season already.
- Peps clear out is estimated to be 200 mil+ with maybe 3-5 for the first 11 alone, or first 15 straight away. More games, more time together as well as play the youngsters we've seen this season already...

Its a loss, but more of a minor hiccup/niggle. I see more pluses than losses at having to drop into the EL for a year, its not the OMG catastrophe the press have it as..

I got through earlier, but is it too much to ******* ask for L'pool to notify people telling the the results of the ballot?

Or do 17.000 hopeful's have to put up with our ***** website telling you to check back in 15 minutes?

I hope you're right! But Man United under Van Gaal seem to have mastered playing well once or twice a season and still being right in the Champions League hunt without ever really convincing. Frustrating as **** for a Liverpool fan! :P

The more people I've checked in with tonight, and the more who are still without having dipped out the ballot ..... genuine, good lads who've been all over Europe this year but may well of lost out to someone that's just been all 7 homes (******* 1 in 7 chance my pasty white **** Liverpool! You wouldn't know loyalty if it jumped up and bit yers on yours!) ..... the more seething you are and the more guilty you feel you have one. (Even though Kazan away is all i've missed this run.).

I'm with Klopp on his original (paraphrasing) '100K L'pool family come and enjoy' line before the twats forced him to back track. EVERYONE that can needs to be in Basle to let UEFA know just what a bunch of absolute braindead ***** they are for holding this there.

The flip side though is ANY hint of ANY trouble and it'll be all put on our toes yet again when the real culprits are the fuckwits in suits in Nyon who couldn't give a flying **** about football fans!

We decided against booking anything in the end, but if the 0.01% chance of getting tickets occurred we were doing to drive up.

Just been offered a ticket for tonight again. Third time this week! Everyone must be skint cos of Basel.

I literally had 2 seats to my left empty and the three to my right empty. Monged out first half. Then the lad behind's mate came down the second but still plenty of room to sprawl .....

Well that was utter wank. Where we interested at all? I'd say it was testimonial pace but that's doing testimonials a disservice.

One of the flatest displays under Klopp. Coutinho and Lallana (and Kolo who is just a living legend) tried but the rest weren't worth much of anything. Pity Ojo wasn't on sooner.

Risky putting everything on a one off final and not securing the European place through the league. Still, at least we didn't lose to them.

One more game of utter tedium and then the biggie.

I'm not too bothered by the option of CL or no european football at all. Although obviously we want the Champions League.

The idea of just a domestic campaign after Klopp has had a full pre-season and made his own transfers doesn't sound too bad though..

See, I half get that. Stage we're currently at/ concentrate fully on the league et all But to me you NEVER turn down Europe. It's what this club is built on and is the pinnacle of where you can play. And just as fast as we start pushing our coefficient up again with this years run we'd be right back down with another year out.

And even MORE importantly, I'd have no European holidays! And this would NOT be good for my demeanour and the sake of board peace and harmony. So there!

Thinking about our player of the year being as they'll be a wank side out Sunday at West Brom and then just the final to go.

Has to be the oft criticised James Milner for me.

The two Brazilians have contributed with important goals and assists but have had up and down consistency. Lovren's been just about the most improved player under Klopp and he'd be in the mix. But for a season long level of solid 7 out or 10 or above Milner's been that. He's like this team's Ronnie Whelan. You don't fully appreciate just how vital he is to the side until he's not there. Stupendous work rate. Fills in most anywhere he's asked and does a solid, professional job doing it with minimum fuss. And hard to argue with 7 goals and 14 assists I believe it is now.

If we're at the stage next year where the likes of Milner and Lallana are squad players, we'll be building a pretty darn good squad indeed.
