Love to mate but the US this summer is just too far.

BUT I'm fixing to DEFO do either Juve or Inter the San Siro next year to fill in for the lack of any Euro aways.

As in Milan v Juve / Milan v Inter? That would be pretty sweet.

Yeah It'd be mental money to go to America, too long flying and for a friendly lol

That's my plan. Been dying to go the San Siro for years (refused to go when we played Inter. Because it just isn't the same when it's not Milan. You know where I'm coming from!); and now we have no Euro trips for 15 months then it seems an ideal opportunity. And as the only time it's anywhere near full now is those two games it'd have to be them. A half full San Siro or worse as it more often than not is would just kill the experience.

Quite happy to jib a L'pool game for a game in Milan.

They want the fee. If he stays he can go where he likes, whenever he likes next summer. And he knows it. I reckon he's banking on whether Liverpool make The CL next season

If that's what he wants he can f right off!

You either want to come be a part of what Klopp's building now or you don't.

That's my gut feeling. as Tezzz said, too much of a coincidence that an agreed fee and contract package falls apart right after you lose to Sevilla....

I feel bad for Gotze tbh. Mueller and Lewa never get injured and form such a well functioning partnership, only Messi/Ronaldo/Suarez would be able to break into first team in their place.

Just a quick question, and I'm sorry if it's been asked before, it's difficult keeping up with this thread sometimes!

If we finish outside of the top 4 next year, will any of you be calling for Klopp's dismissal?

Anyone that did that after his first full season would be a f-ing ********.

I do however, ad the manager acknowledges, thibk we need to be challenging for the league at the least next year with no Europe.

Barring an absolute disaster, like 14th or something, I don't think so. Klopp has been my favourite manager for years and I'm prepared to be patient. With 6 managers - Conte, Wenger, Guardiola, Mourinho, Klopp and Pochettino - who will probably consider a finish outside the top 4 a failure, and Ranieri's Leicester definitely in with a shout, plus West Ham, Southampton and maybe Everton if their next manager knows how to defend, as dark horses, someone has to fail.

Even if it's us it doesn't mean Klopp needs to go - if he does, which could only happen if we have a disastrous season, then it's hard to imagine we could get anyone even close to his quality.

If he can't get top 4 with no Europe that will definitely put some major questionmarks around his job security.

But booting him, nah.

9-1 for the league with most.

Think I may well have to have a dabble at that. First time since Evo that I've felt genuinely optimistic that L'pool are serious challengers looking ahead to the new season. Maybe back further to Suness' or even Kenny's first go-around that I genuinely have high hopes of winning it.

Imo, not signing Gotze was a blessing in disguise. Mane would probably improve the side more in terms of having pace out wide. You airway l already have enough attacking midfielders. The main obstacle is finding players willing to go without European football for maybe a season. Will Karius be good enough to win the league? Will Liverpool sign a credible Moreno replacement? Will you sign a top centre back? A few other weaknesses need rectifying and I can't see how you'll get the required players. Anything can happen in football though.

I don't want Mane for some reason...

Another Southampton player, don't want repeats of those jokes! :P

I just cant see us challenging for the league.

I expect improvement and a real shot at top four, but others sides around us will improve also. I'm not exactly inspired by the transfer targets rumoured but would love to be proved wrong on that.

It's strange because come the end of the season the three Saints players were regular starters for us.

Clyne was consistent pretty much all season, Lovren improved dramatically and Lallana seemed to thrive under the Klopp regime

With Matip, who by all accounts had another excellent season in Germany, and Lovren, who was playing as good as any centre back in the EPL the second half of last season; I don't think the need for that 'top one' is there so much s it was the first half the year. We'll need another centre half for depth purposes mind. Skrtel's mercifully gone. Illori more than likely too, He's nowhere near top flight standard. So that leaves the very inexperienced young Gomez coming off a season long injury, Lucas who may or may not be pushed in there but hes not really ideal with his lack of pace, and Kolo who hopefully will be retained another year as the 5th CB. (NO idea why that's still not been attended to. Seems an absolute no-brainer to me both for reliable, veteran depth and a fantastic dressing room presence for everyone. Young and old. So another reliable one along the lines of a Subtoic and what he did for him at Mainz and Dortmund for many years would be perfect. Plus if Karius is just a solid 'keeper, something Mingolet will never be on a consistent basis, that automatically makes everything solid.

I can see Moreno being gone and two LB's coming in. The Leicester lad who you've been chasing apparently favours a move here. So he'd be sound as good young depth in now without having to pay a heck of a lot more a year or two down the line. And then an experienced one, be it Cologne's Hector or whomever that's a solid defender with Moreno completely binned. (Thought Smith might be the young back-up but the longer the year went on he looked as braindead as Moreno. He's just not got enough for the very top level.). RB we're solid with the uber consistent Clyne and Flanagan backing up.

To your other point on Gotze (still don't think that's anywhere near dead as regards ourselves but we'll see), I'd beg to differ on two counts in having enough attacking mids. Firstly Coutinho. World class on his day. Average frustration on others. And the later outweighs the former when it comes to his consistency. The UEFA Cup Final is a glaring recent example of him completely disappearing when he should, at this point, be taking hold of games like that if he's ever gonna' live unto his ability. Right here, right now, if Gotze came in, Phil would be my odd man out to start with Lallana and Firmino, who hopefully can only get better his second season, the two to start alongside Gotze. And then you've also the added bonus of Firmino and Gotze being able to play up front as perfect forwards for the way Klopp plays. Considering Benteke's more than likely gone, that lesson's the need for a striker with Sturridge, Origi and Ings along with those two.

A top notch, mobile DM is far more a priority than a centre back to allow Can, Henderson and Grujic to get up and down.

As much as I never want to see Moreno at left back again, I'm not totally against the idea of him being given a pre-season at left wing to see if there is any potential there. He practically plays there in games anyway. It would definitely give us more pace going forward, and while he's **** in defence he'd only need to support the left back which is where his experience in defence may come in handy.

Just read that 2,000 new season tickets will be handed out for this season. And here I am hoping I'd come close being at number 6,000 on the waiting list. :'(

Problem with that is Moreno is a failed winger who has been converted into a fullback. So it wouldn't make sense reconverting him back into a winger. Plus he is extremely one footed and hasn't got the game intelligence or skill to consistently beat his man. Oh and he cant cross. Get rid ASAP.
