Wirtz best game for us and if anyone doubts Virgil is the GOAT then watch the full sequence of Salah missing and hittting the post. The way he calmly played out the back when most CBs wouldve just booted it, shows theres levels to this. Lastly, but we already know this but Robbo is actually finished at the top level. His legs have completely gone, and any ball in behind is basically a chance to go at the defence.

Like Kloppo’s great Red sides, inject this awesome adrenaline fix into my veins. This highest of high highs from let off’s like that you just can’t describe unless you are actually there with friends to experience them live. Let this ballsey swagger that is in this City’s DNA, feeling and knowing we are the best of the best out there ,anywhere; completely untouchable in a football sense, last forever!

God it’s F brilliant to be us! 😍

First test in Europe, against one of the hardest sides on the Continent to play and beat, passed. ✅

We could have a straight forward , routine, 2/3 goal victory. As it should have been after the blistering start. We could have saved any questions about losing a 2 goal lead. For the third time this season already. And second at home. The ref could have disallowed Atleti’s mad first, as he should have, and let the game play out to its inevitable routine, comfortable win for L’pool. But then where’s the fun in that? I mean many could argue that it’s a lot easier on there nerves. Which I totally get along with anyone’s concerns. But if all that had happened, we’d have been deprived of that awesome release after big Virg’s last gasp winner. Honestly, when you are at a game, there is NO better way to win a game of football. That adrenaline rush, arms and bodies everywhere ….. that release of pure, unadulterated euphoria ….. that is why you do it and why you make the massive sacrifices you do to follow them every week. Moments and memories. That’s what football support is ALL about. And to get that let off of another last kick winner, for the 4th time in 5 this season ….. I aren’t articulate enough to describe just how brilliant a shared, collective emotion that is when you are at the match. Routine wins are brilliant of course. And they’ll be coming again sooner rather than later. But to have that release at the end, to float out the ground on Cloud 9, and wake up absolutely buzzing for the second time in 4 days ….. there is NO natural or chemical induced high that can top that.

And the best part with this team, yet again nowhere near their best, as well as they played in spells, was the inevitability factor that the winner would come. No anxious shout-outs and annoyance at taking our foot off the gas and letting them back in. No lads arguing among themselves at dropping 2 points from a winning position. No panic among the crowd. Just a collective calm and expectancy that they’d find a way. The way champions and proper great sides do. It’s a Utd Ferguson-esq inevitability. You just never don’t think, with their ridiculous mentality, that they won’t find a way. That unwavering belief that whatever knocks they take, their mentality is so much stronger than any other side they face, they’ll still be the ones laughing at the final whistle. What pretenders to our crown like Arsenal don’t have as they haven’t gotten over the line. What you get from being the best of the best. And the calmness of the players to not panic, to not just launch balls in, but to calmly keep playing our way and probing, knowing that one chance they need will be there, is also brilliant to see every game as they’ve evolved another level now with the swagger of champions and knowing no other side out there can live with them.

And don’t let any Internet S/stirrer try tell you it’s ‘luck’ either. That’s just a defensive, coping mechanism as their own sides don’t have the relentless. champions mentality your Slot L’pool side has. You used to say the same about Ferguson’s great Utd sides. That they’d ‘Scrawned another late winner/ their luck has to run out soon/ this isn’t sustainable/ refs are making sure they win’ et al. It was petty nonsense as they ultimately were what they were. Some of the best sides this Country has ever seen. And their relentless mentality created that perceived ‘luck.’ And made them as nailed on inevitable, most every game, as nailed on inevitable gets. And this gang of majestic Reds are exactly the same as they go around laying down their own dynasty era of dominance. And every other fan knows it and are scared to say the reality of what we are. Inevitable.

Bring on the mongrels Sat’day dinner! A routine win would be sound. But if you want to give us another unmatched rush of a last kick winner in their Cup Final, that will be real welcome too!

Up the P boiling Reds!

Weekends don’t get ANY better than weekends when you win the Derby. Yet again, this City is OURS! 😍

If you are from, or still live in, this City, the Derby is the one game, home and away, you want to win more than ANY other every year. The nagging dread of going into work Monday, morning having lost at home to them, something a whole generation of Blues have never seen happen at Anfield in front of fans (The farcical, jarg COVID non-season no match-going fan ever remembers doesn’t count!), is the absolute worst football horror I could imagine. I’d rather lose to Utd after the break than suffer that nightmare. Gods honest. And I get why the World wide fanbase would find that mad given everything the Utd rivalry entails. But to us, it’s the Ev as you have to live and work among them on the daily.

Thankfully, L’pool stood tall, showed more desire and determination, along with their ridiculous fitness levels (This was the season’s first tough 3-game week after all. Which the Ev had been resting up through), to have the perfect ending to a perfect week.

Before we get In to the game, massive props to all the Blues in the ground for their part in the impeccable period of applause for Bobby Graham and Joey Jones. God rest. 🙏❤️ Thank you Blues. Sincerely. To have that followed by, as is becoming the norm with any Reds passing (player, manager or supporter), by their respective banners paraded in front of the Kop, was special. Not least well arguably the most famous football banner of them all- ‘JOEY ATE THE FROGS LEGS MADE THE SWISS ROLL NOW HES MUNCHING GLADBACH😍❤️

A lot to like yesterday from a typically tight and tense Derby. (If not as frenetic and fierce as past occasions.).

I loved that Arne had no qualms flipping 4 players to highlight our ridiculous, top quality, strength-in-depth. To have £271 million worth of recently purchased talent, and best in class talent at that in Frimpong, Isak and Wirtz, on the bench, in one of our most important and intense games of the season ….. I can’t think of any club on the planet that could currently do that. 😮 😍 It just adds to the fact we are no longer in the days of best XI’s. But rather now, the days of the best super squads. Now he has the full trust in what he inherited, along with his own signings, it’s brilliant to see Slot take each game on an individual basis and rotate freely for that match alone. Regardless of the standard of opposition or magnitude of game. We are in it to complete football and win all 4 this year. So every player in the squad rotating and staying fresh is a necessity.

Most of our football in the first half was superb. And Everton had absolutely no answer. The pressing, winning it back high, then brilliant attacking interplay that yielded 2 ridiculously good goals was a pleasure to see. Yeah, we naturally took our foot off the gas the second half after the mammoth week we’ve had of ridiculously intense, tiring teams to contend with and beat. But the brilliant thing about it all was as much as Everton improved the second half, after they scored the third belter goal of the game, Liverpool stood firm and didn’t concede that second chance for Everton to equalise as much as they probed. In fact, the better chances the 2nd half belonged to Liverpool. And with a little better counters, the final score line always looked more like it would end 3-1 than 2-2. Liverpool fought for their lives second half and you can steadily see the improvement in this young, vibrant, much changed group game-on-game.

Being naturally concerned about certain things we aren’t quite firing on yet is one thing. But it’s proper mad to me how anyone can be narking at a 100% start, with visible improvement with each passing game, knowing there’s still levels to come from us the more we play together and gel. 🤷‍♂️ Even a few Blue mates, who normally go radio silent after a Derby loss, were gracious and honest enough to say if we are showing signs in bits like we currently are, we’ll be absolutely unstoppable when they all click and hit top gear. Really weird way to support and not take full enjoyment from your perfect team. But each to their own.

Massive performances all over the park. Not least Ryan and big Dom who were outstanding in the middle. Both CH’s stood tall when called upon. And distributed the ball superbly. Ekitike continued his excellent start to his career at Anfield. Mo was superb first half. And gave everything for the cause second half to protect our 3 points. And both FB’s were stars too. Special shout out to Kerkez who had his best game yet after he came to the party against Arsenal.

First, massive, 3-game week of the season passed with flying colours against three absolute bleep opponents to play against. Ended by ruining the Ev’s Cup Final yet again! 😊

Roll on Tuesday night and the next leg of the quadruple attempt starting.

Up the 100%, INEVITABLE Reds!

Perfect weekend with that draw.

Lego Head got exactly what he deserved with his negativity.

He is the main reason they won’t be in a race with ourselves.

Gutless.

Sometimes we football fans can be extremely bias and have rose tinted glasses when it comes to our side, me included. However, surely Arsenal fans must see through the Arteta charade and call a spade a spade. It's turgid setpiece Moyes set up to not lose coupled with Mourinho's negative big men get a goal and sit back football.

I have to deal with arsenal fans daily down south but my god, they are the most delusional fan base who seem to support Arteta more than Arsenal. Man city was there for the taking, and what proved that the mentality wasn't there was the equaliser. Not to be a celebration police, but Instead of running to the centre circle after the equaliser, they celebrated like mad into the fans as if there weren't 5 more minutes to get a winner. Gutless is the perfect description.

I understand why Sacchi was angry that the top Italian clubs let Leoni go abroad. From that outing, he looked imperious and hopefully the injury at the end isn't too severe.

Pretty ‘meh’ game. But a nice, relaxed passage into round 4 with some good positives all the same. Along with moments of base stupidity.

First game of the third part of the quadruple assault passed. ✅

Straight knock-out Cup football is about one thing. Making sure you are in the hat for the next round at the end of the game. It doesn’t matter how you achieve it. And that wasn’t the most thrilling game by any stretch of the imagination. But the objective at KO was achieved at the final whistle so, in context, that was another pretty decent night all told in our outstanding start to the season.

To be able to change the whole XI at the start, putting out a team that would well arguably be top 10 in the league, and more than likely fighting for the European places, just highlighted again our ridiculous strength-in-depth everywhere on the pitch. And at that, 3 teenagers, one on full debut, who have every chance to form the backbone of future L’pool sides.

But the natural by-product of that was a lot of the play was disjointed and the press disorganised and not in synch. Which all wasn’t helped by some of the senior players (looking at you Endo, Frimpong and JMG), having really poor outings. So with that context, and the fact you’re playing (albeit a changed) Championship side, who were a PL side the past few years, who are also one of the favourites to bounce back up, it was little surprise the game was disjointed.

On the positive side, the new players and youngsters were very good. Mamardashvili was really solid in goal. Dominating his area aerially. As he should for his mammoth size. And showing his outstanding agility when called upon. Nottin’ he could do about the goal after Endo’s horrific mistake. Leoni showing yet again that Italy is unparalleled when it comes to producing top drawer defenders. Like the Georgian, he’s a really impressive figure to see up close in the flesh with his height and frame. Which he used to great effect dominating in the air. Whilst being totally cool and composed on the ball. All the while having that great Italian knack of knowing when to defend and when not. But what struck you more than anything, and I don’t know if this came over the TV screen, was his leadership. HE was the one marshaling the backline. Constantly talking. Constantly gesticulating far more senior players around him into position. Easy to see why he’s so highly tipped as the next great Italian CH and captain of the Azzuri. Superb debut. Hopefully the injury isn’t bad. 🤞 I thought Trey was very tidy on his first Anfield start. And really grew into the game second-half after Curtis, who was very, very good again (there’s a reason Arne kept him over Harvey. And I love Harvey to bits), went off and he dropped a bit deeper and started dictating the play. And Rio got more invaluable experience as he grew into the game and had a sound outing.

Throw in the bonus of Alex getting off the mark, after superb anticipation, press, and a brilliant cut back from the best player by a Country mile on the park Chiesa, who doubled down on that with more composed brilliance to set up Hugo for the winner after a peach of an AndyRobbo ball, and there was a lot of positives to take from a very satisfying night.

*Sings ‘Der, Der, Der, Hugo is a DIVVY!!!!!’ 🤬 ….. Just what the heck was he doing last night? The first booking was ridiculous petulance. The second was unbelievably annoying arrogance. Thankfully his teammates bailed him out seeing out the win. But he needs to be apologising to them all and everyone else in the ground supporting him. No more of that please mate. But meh, on the plus side, it means Freddy Church has a great chance to be on the pitch at some point Sat’day. And who doesn’t LOVE that? 😍😍😍

And the absolute bleeps in the crowd, maybe at their first game, who were madly and annoyingly screaming ‘SHOOOOOOOT!’ everytime Joe had the ball the last third need to have a word with themselves and learn the game they are watching. Embarrassing nonsense that. 😡

Kudos to the Southampton fans for both the impeccable silence. And for even making the journey on a Tuesday night. I’ve been on the reverse of that many times and if you aren’t taking a days holiday and staying over, it’s a bleep of a trek both ways. They’ll be like extras from the ‘Walking Dead’ in work this AM haha.

Oh yeah, just to top off the night …..

SINCE 1995! 🐺😍 😂

Grimsby or Wycombe away for a new ground please football Gods tonight.

Up the Magnificent 7 Reds!

Devoed for him.

Certainly wets the appetite for next season that brilliant debut.

God speed Gio lad. Come back stronger than ever.

🚨⚠️ Liverpool centre back Giovanni Leoni has torn his ACL and will be out for several months.

After excellent debut in League Cup last night with also Arne Slot very happy, an unlucky injury for Leoni who will try to be back before the end of the season.

Just realised Chiesa will probably be back in the CL squad now given that new rule this year that you can replace one long term injured player by MD6.

One Italians downfall is another’s chance.
