Mo better not be on the plane to Northern Italy later or else something is badly wrong! 😡

Talking of, has any club got the stupendous record we have at the San Siro? 80% win ratio. Winning the last 4 in a row. The last one under Arne last year. Ridiculous record that. AC and Inter just don’t lose at home in Europe.

Just adds to how underhand and calculating Mo has been here. Aside from flat out lying about there being no communication between himself and the manager.

He really has, sadly, shown a side that belies everything you believed him to be.
 
So, with Mo not travelling, if Cody and Freddy miss out (neither have trained this morning), we are down to just Ekitike, Isak, Wirtz and a kid up front.

For a CL game we must get something out of.

Who has thrown who under the bus again Mo? :mad:

You do realise that Pearce and Joyce especially the hit pieces they've put out, talking more about the latter are the clubs mouthpieces. I cant believe you off all people Scouse is falling for the propaganda and taking this as black and white regardless of Salahs actions. I've soured on Edwards ever since that Nunez and Klopp hit pieces a year or so ago that was so blatant and crass for a player who gave his all for us. This is what Salah meant about throwing him under the bus, they want him gone regardless of his form and outburst. You cant say Liverpool first and back this smarmy morons who are willing to throw one of our greatest players and did actually throw one of our greatest managers under the bus due to disagreements. Its so obvious what he meant when he said he wasnt wanted here.

Well, for what it’s worth, I’ve been in Bergamo Sunday night. And all day in Milan having just got back the room. And everyone we’ve spoken to, on the flight out and the two days here, are 100 % behind the manager and want Mo gone. Or at the very least, a full apology from him if he was to remain.

If you want to support Mo, and by association, undermine EVERYONE at the football club, that’s your prerogative mate.

He isn’t wanted here. As sad as that now is. All through his own doing. There’s ways and means. And that is completely the wrong way to go around things.
 
I wont even agree to disagree because you know I respect your viewpoints but on this one I'll disagree. I know hidden agendas when I see one. All I see is upper management trying to force out one of our greatest players we've seen this playbook before and for what it's worth it's not the Liverpool way. More importantly lets hope we can turn this **** around on the pitch starting tomorrow and find some semblance of form in this rubbish on and off the pitch.

Through the unprecedented tragedy with Diogo, and now this disgrace with Mo, Arne has shown unbelievable leadership in holding everyone together in the most professional, humble manner you could wish from him. Everything we’ve had to deal with this season will serve him so well and is fixing to be the making of him for a long tenure at Anfield.

I don’t agree with giving in to ‘me first’ player power, and taking an unnecessary risk with the atmosphere. But I understand why they brought Mo back into the squad today.

At least we can say thank you and goodbye for what should be his last time ever at Anfield.

Best game we have played in months for me, still dont like the lack of no sitting 6 as any half decent transition and the opp are at the defence, but it is what it is with how Slot sets us up nowadays. Just need to take this and build some kind of momentum and oh we looked much better with Salah back in the side, you can tell he still has a bit of a mental block, but once one goes in, he will be back. Curtis Jones is my MOTM, but can he kick on and stay fit long term is always the question for him.

Well that couldn’t have gone much better from every aspect.

A really good game of togger that between two really good sides. Where, if the score had ended 5-2/ 5-3 or similar in L’pool’s favour, nobody would have complained and everyone would have gone home happy at the entertainment on display. L’pool have been improving game-on-game through the current unbeaten run. By no means perfect. But with many positives to take from each game. With little milestones broken they weren’t doing before and incremental steps forward each time as they slowly come out of the natural malaise they’ve been in and start to heal and believe in themselves and one another once more. And yesterday was no exception with both back-to-back wins, and back-to-back clean sheets, for only the third time this season. And the first since the start of November. A really solid, disciplined performance where they had a plan and stuck to it. Whilst playing, along with Brighton who deserve there props and who certainly deserved at least one goal for their efforts, some super football.

Let’s get the sideshow out of the way first …..

I thought after Arne’s mastery of leadership and man management this past week, after a situation nobody wanted but the self-serving interests of Mo brought around and dragged the whole club down with; we showed equal restraint and humble professionalism as a crowd. The overriding feeling in the boozer from regulars before the game was nobody was happy he was in the squad without so much as an apology. (Which we still, disgracefully, haven’t got.). But as he was, it just was what it was and although it didn’t feel right to sing his name and effectively condone him throwing us ALL under the bus, he’s still playing in Red, so it would be totally wrong and go against our whole ethos to have another ugly Trent situation and all that cringe disgrace for a time the end of last season. And it went as well as could have been expected. Many stayed silent when he came on. But applauded him through his time on the pitch as it would be detrimental to the team not to. Whilst not singing his name the few times his song tried to start up. Those that wanted to sing it, did without any rebuke from anyone. A very mixed, but very humble and respectful response to a horrible, self created situation Mo has brought on everyone.

For the record, I was with what seemed the majority, certainly all around us in 106, in not singing his name as I can’t condone me-first player power and undermining EVERYONE publicly. But I did applaud and encourage him through his 60 odd minutes. And stayed back the end to applaud him off in what I still personally think will be the last time we see him at Anfield.

I’m just relieved we can forget that sideshow now for a while whilst he’s at the AFCON and concentrate on the team moving back up the league.

The other perfect thing from us was each time the Mo song tried to get going from the back the Kop, it was followed by booming versions of both Arne’s songs. And the new ‘CHAMPI ARNE’ banner from the Spion Kop 1906 lads was brilliant pre-game in doubling down on just how much we love and believe in our manager who brought home #20 at the first attempt. And the brilliant way he’s conducted himself and lead the club through yet another trying period this past week in this embryonic season.

Of the many standouts on the pitch, I thought both FB’s were excellent. Joe was having a belter game before he went off. Hopefully it’s just a minor strain as he deserves far better injury luck. But at least Bradley and Frimpong are back to ease issues there. And Kerkez, who has been growing and improving by the game over the last month or so the more comfortable he gets, had probably his best game for the club yet. Totally, bar the one time Minteh got past him late first-half, bottling up one of the best and most inform, direct wingers the league. Wirtz just gets better and better with each passing game. His heat maps must be mad as he is EVERYWHERE across the park. No more influential player than him in this side. Ekitike continues to wow you with his Henry-Esq elegance and ridiculous burst of speed from a standing position that leaves everyone behind. With another great brace to boot. Super cameo, yet again, from Chiesa. If he had to patiently wait again until the last 8 to get his chance. (Who has been hard done to again here Mo?). Hopefully his chances of far more minutes improve over the next 3 or 4 weeks. And Curtis was yet again MOTM with another superbly dominant, controlling display across at least three different positions he was tasked with through the flow of the game.

Just a really solid, disciplined display to double down on similar Tuesday to round out a very good week on the pitch against a very, very good football side who always work as hard as anyone we play in Brighton.

Nicely building unbeaten run this as we bounce into Christmas in top spirits. When Anfield is constantly ringing with ‘Oh come, all ye faithful …..’, and ‘Merry Christmas, Everton!’, you know we are in a real good feel good place with our team at this special time of the year.

Seagulls wings clipped. ✅ Now hopefully the Eagles fly high and put City in their place today! 🤞🤞

Thoughts and prayers with our greatest ever striker too. God speed Rushie lad. Sounds like you’ve really gone through it the last few days. 🙏

‘One James Milner!’ belting down from all 4 sides the ground when he came on, is all that needs to be said of the love and esteem we hold him in.

Wearing the #20 jersey is a mark of the very special human being he is.

Be nice if I could log in after a hard days graft to find the only story about Mo is him publicly apologising to everyone of a Red persuasion he shamed.

9 days in and still no hint of that.

Does anyone honestly not think Guehi and Semenyo aren’t done deals?

The only ? for me is whether Palace want some money now for Guehi. Or getting nottin’ for him the summer. Not concerned about the player at all after how hard he tried to come us this past summer.

And would it surprise anyone if we didn’t already have a deal agreed for Semenyo regardless of what happens with Mo? Given our outstanding relationship with Bournemouth, and this being a simple negotiation for Hughes. I can see that one being announced early in the window like Kerkez. The only possible stumbling block would be him being an Arsenal fan. But the tapas Pullis is hardly more enticing than what we have built at the Champions.

Like I said a month ago I'll put my neck on the line and say Semenyo is a done deal. What you mentioned is correct Hughes naturally has a great relationship with his old side and should make things easier. Very good player who's got even better every season and can play across the entire frontline.

Guehi Im sure he will sign in the summer as Glasner has Parish by the balls. Been watching Guehi more myself this season as I personally think he isn't as good as the English press make him out to be. Maybe its because Konate has been a disaster class every game but he's impressed me. Another that improves his game every year and gets better. Tbf if I had my choice of CBs in the PL it would be the lad from Forest Murillo. He would be a great Virgil replacement. Absolute warrior and great on the ball despite lacking in height.
