Brilliant, almost perfect, FA Cup weekend thus far.

Scab bleeps out last night at Wrexham.

Potential long trips to Boreham Wood, Bournemouth, Cambridge, Exeter, Cheltenham, Millwall, Palace. Tottenham and Watford no longer an issue. With one of Charlton or Chelsea to come.

And the coups de grace, Everton clocking up a 31st season with no silverware!

Superb first two days of results this third round weekend.

And with one of Portsmouth or Arsenal, and West Ham or QPR out tomorrow, just need Walsall, West Brom and Utd to win now for an almost picture perfect round.

Conor is so unlucky. The absolute picture perfect right full for how we view our FB’s. Has another superb game at Arsenal, and now he has this to deal with. With, if NI somehow qualify without him, his WC place in major doubt. Devoed for him. The only good news is it not being an ACL.

God speed mate. Come back stronger than ever next season mate.

I hope that 🐀 Martinelli, and the Tapas Pulis, are happy after the formers despicable actions on the pitch last Thursday. 🤬 And the laters feeble attempts to excuse and justify them. 🤬 Tinpot club these days and it starts from the weasel managing them who sets the whole tone of the club.

Man alive the horrendous luck we’ve had this season. 🤦‍♂️ With now Conor added to Leoni being done for the year early with the ACL. And Isak being all but done for the season. Three lads who would have played a major part. Aside from all the other major injuries. But hey, context is not allowed in today’s football vacuum so next man up!

Interesting to see if this now brings Geuhi forward 5 months given he can cover both CH and RB? 🤷‍♂️

Brighton next round.

Thank Christ i’s at home!

Why I wanted Utd to win yesterday. Brighton away twice, along with Bournemouth, would have been a proper pain in the backside.

Made up with that draw. Should be a belter Cup tie that.

Where do you think he goes?
You want me to be honest? Nothing probably happens until the end of the season unless we have another massive fall off. Then again if you get rid of Slot in the summer then that's Hughes and Edwards man and that puts Hughes on the chopping block. Do they back their man or admit they got it wrong? Alonso was my first choice before Slot and nothing about his stint with them primadonnas in Spain changes that.

Whatever you think of Slot, and I'll lay good money that we finish top 4, there's absolutely
NO way they make a change regardless of silverware or not, as the context to this season isn't lost on those within the club, there's absolutely ZERO way Alonso takes over.

There's a reason they interviewed both Amorim and Alonso And quickly said no to both. Neither's style suits what we have instilled through every level of the football club or the personnel we have.

I guess we'll find out at the end of the season personally think Alonso is more malleable than you make him out to be.

Job done when you play a game of knock-out Cup football. Having your name in the hat for the next round.

First FA Cup test passed. ✅

It’s mad reading SM last night before bed the amount of narking going around at a comfortable L’pool win. Which that was despite the late goals. Barnsley carried little goal threat and if big Dom doesn’t have whatever the heck he had their goal, they likely don’t score. On him, absolutely laughable the Barnsley manager trying to claim he was both disrespectful the goal. And he should have conceded a penalty. On the former, he was just plain d umb. That wasn’t disrespect. That was just a mad thing that happened for some reason. That he won’t EVER do again. And he wins the ball the peno. Funny how he never mentioned the blatent dive the Barnsley player aye? Or the tug of shirt late second half that left everyone bemused by the official. But back to the performance …..

You can’t win in games like that. You know your superior fitness and individual talent will ultimately see you through 9 times out of 10. Which it did. So it’s hard to raise yourself to a 100% level. Which we never did, on or off the park, as we coasted through in second gear. And then you have a group of professional players the other side, who may never get to play at a ground like Anfield again, giving their all to have as memorable a game as they can to tell their grandkids down the line. Along with it being the FA Cup:L. Which just has its litany of third round shocks over the years. United out to lower league Bournemouth the ‘80’s. Holders Coventry out to non-league Sutton. Champions Arsenal out to lower league Wrexham the ‘90’s. This past weekend Forest out at Wrexham. And the biggest shock of all, Palace out at Macclesfield. That’s just 5 of the MANY third round Cup shocks over the years. So you make sure you aren’t one, get the job done, progress, and go home happy.

Credit to Barnsley. They were really well organised. Kept their shape and discipline well. And even broke a few times. They gave it as good as they could and should be proper proud. And their support had a fun night out that is a rare thing for them these days at a major club.

Not the best L’pool performance by any degree. But a more than sound one that did xactly what the job asked. With another great cameo from Wirtz along the way. Ekitike back in the groove. Along with much needed minutes for a slew of players. And a young winger, who is way ahead of his development curve in what he’s getting to show this season, getting a long run. Oh, and absolute hillarity watching Gakpo racing around with one boot on. And one boot in his hand. 🤣🤣🤣With 4 top drawer L’pool goals thrown in to boots

Really nothing to be upset about at all. With a perfect home draw to Brighton to come next. Where attitudes on and off the pitch will be naturally heightened as the level of opposition naturally controls that.

Onto Burnley and 12 unbeaten for a side that isn’t progressing. 🤦‍♂️

Up Arne’s Red Army on the Cup march!

🚨 Liverpool summer focus expected to be centre-back - no breakthrough on Konate contract + Van Dijk / Gomez expiring in 2027. Right-back recruitment not planned by #LFC this window & Salah staying but situation one to watch at end of season @TheAthleticFC
