Dominik next, and we are good to go. Despite falling off this year he is so talented, but Im so confused in his role this season but thats a story for another day. He is great as a 6 when pressed, as he can just drop the shoulder and go, but teams have wised up and stopped doing that as they realise his biggest weakness which is he cant progress the ball by passing. I think that with a more athletic player, similar to Dom, who can take the load off him by being the passer on the team, it will correct the balance in midfield and help Grav get back to form as the sitting 6. People have been clamouring, saying we need a 6, but forget how good he was last year in the role.

Macca, on the other hand, I haven't heard any news about a contract extension, but whisper it quietly but im in the same boat as fingers crossed, just like Konate they are wished well for their services and moved on in the summer. Hes fall off the past year is akin to Fabinho imo.

Didnt even catch the game due to neccasary work commitments and time zone so I look forward to the write-up, Scouse and the highlights. Another Konate disaster class I'm hearing, but 1 nil in that cauldron of a stadium isnt so bad as Turkish teams are **** poor away from home.

Tbh VVD wasn’t much better. Luckily a shocking bit of officiating kept it to 1 as it really should of been 2-0 as there second goal should never have been ruled out.

Well, I was the only one of our group disappointed with the loss. And that went with most around us the lock in after. And back the bar when we finally got off the coaches at 1 AM. Mainly because this alliteration of Gala is *****. The result by itself was sound. We take the chances we didn't last night, we’ll volley them all over next Wednesday. And we deserved at least a draw last night. Just frustrating that they were more than there for the taking.

Started really quick, pressing them all over and creation g mad panic. They gave the ball straight to us twice with glaring chances missed. Then we forgot how to defend a corner, they scored, and control went and it became a basketball game. Really could have been any score. To either side or draws in between.

Not great like but sound scoreline to take home.

Yeah, watched the extended highlights and from what I can tell it became a basketball game but truth be told they are a poor side, and we should wallop them at Anfield as a Juve with 10 men did the same in Turin. Last night was a magnifying glass into why Konate, as imperious as he can be when on form, has to be thanked for his service and moved on.

You called it time ago, but for me I thought he would with age, become mentally strong and be able to play his own game without Virgil holding his hand, but hes shown he is just too mentally weak for me. The moment he makes one mistake its like he gets into his own head, and you might as well take him off because you know what's coming. We have a batch of young, talented CBs coming through next season. Can you imagine Konate having to lead them if/when Virgil departs?

Also wanna hear ya opinion on Macca because im sorry but he can't have gone the way of Fabinho this early??? He has to be carrying some form of long-term injury that requires surgery and is putting it off because of the World Cup? He's fallen off needs to be studied as he's playing like he needs a Zimmer frame, I'm not even joking.

Utterly mad that he keeps playing him and not Curtis. Defo something going on there and I’ll be shocked if he isn’t moved on the summer. Be it for the manager not fancying him/ a hefty £40 million plus PSR profit. Or simply Jones just naturally wanting a regular starting gig, a parting of the ways seems inevitable sadly. I think you’ll see Gravenberch step into that role as an 8 with a controlling 6 added. More than likely Wharton with Anderson seemingly City bound.

As for AllyMac, I don’t have a clue what’s going on there mate? 🤷‍♂️ His legs may have dropped of like Fabinho. Lest we forget Brighton work as hard as we did under Jurgen so he’s been run into the ground constantly most all his time in England. I actually could see him leaving too and a younger, fresher replacement being added.

Whatever happens though, he shouldn’t be playing right now. He was abysmal again Tuesday.

All that said, if the plan is to bring Quansah back in 2027, or A N Other come to that, to allow us more scope to address everything else this summer, extending Konate wouldn’t be the worst option to cover next season.

Gravenberch needs to add more to his game if he wants to play as an 8. He cant pass water, let alone a football that isnt a safe sideways pass. I like him as a 6, yes teams have wised up to him as they realise dont bother pressing him, but put a controlling 8 who can cover ground and he will look a lot better. I would love Anderson ngl as Wharton for me is to similair to Macca in that he is a good player, but he cant cover ground as he is slow as ****. For me, we need more physicality in that midfield as we get overrun to much, especially if Szbo isnt playing in there.

Repeat everything ive been saying all second half all season but this time he had fast wingers to play how he wants right? The worst part of it all is that even if you get rid of him, the two inept fools will hang on to their current roles. Actually so embarrassing, you could see it coming an absolute mile away as well.

You feel like you’ve wasted years of your life watching Liverpool this season. Absolute pants! Hanging on at home against this Spurs side lol. Look like a team of old past it has beens and play like a team with no game plan tactics. Has Salah got some incriminating pics of Slot coz I don’t know why he keeps getting picked.

You know whats funny apart from his end product, which has been bobbins all season tbf he actually tried to make something happen and sat Spence down many a times. Ill be told its nothing to do with fitness and conditioning as to why we drop off every second half though 🤷‍♂️

It’s definitely playing a part for sure. It’s like something sucks the life out of you every second half. But it’s far deeper than that you look like a poor football team.

you lot had 1 job 1 500m to go backwords

*£450 million.

With a lower net spend than Arsenal and a few other clubs. And around £ 40 million net or so more than Utd.

Which is as big a problem as any. As many went out as came in.

Well I had today’s match missive formed in my head last night to bang out before work this AM. How I was going to talk about how abysmally abject that utter disgrace was from L’pool yesterday. About how the managers poor and unneeded substitutions totally cost us any chance of victory and lost all shape and control we had. (That was your dip after that d. Not fitness. All pace had gone out the team and the out ball wasn’t there.). How we were stood there anticipating a ‘Spurs equaliser late as everyone had seen that movie before. And how it was the straw that finally broke the camels back with a lot of people as natural frustration boiled over into something we never do as it’s wool behaviour. But something that was understandably, and justifiably, voiced ….. PROPER booing and anger from a sizeable number the end of the game for the first time in a LONG time at Anfield. Something we just don’t do. Not the minimal boos after PSV when those acting like wools were quickly self policed and put in their place. Not the similar against Leeds some vainly tried to claim was the crowd turning but was the furthest from. This was different. This was loud, frustrated anger from many that had been brewing all game in what was a very fractious support the more the S on the pitch failed to put ‘Spurs to bed. And invited them to take something from the game. A very understandable and natural outpouring at this happening AGAIN against a bottom 7 side. This one the worst in the entire league. And what may well have been the final tipping point for many judging by the fume the boozer after.

It wasn’t going to be a pretty match missive at all with so much negativity and annoyed emotion to unpack.

But I’m too tired to start the week off in that vain so we’ll leave it as utter dog S from everyone not called Gakpo and Rio, and move on to Wednesday.

We actually went 5th yesterday. 2 points behind fast falling Villa. Doesn’t get much madder than that.

Pretty damning from one of our former reporters and pretty much confirms everything thats been said. The last tweet about Hughes and Edwards falling on their sword is a must imo. Classic case of the peter principle with Edwards and well Hughes for me is just out of his depth.
