I’ve literally just logged on to post the same. Wake up for a **** and we’ve signed a Spanish winger I’ve never heard of.

Presumably Iriola driven. And presumably that would end any Barcola links given he seemingly plays mainly off the left.

Going back to sleep but you don’t make the Spanish WC squad with all their talent if you aren’t a top talent yourself.

Again you’re missing g the point. That’s the only season he’s regularly started over 60 odd games. After that, he’s been backing up arguably the best left winger currently in club football.

I don’t know what more you could judge someone on than when he regularly plays? 🤷‍♂️

If L’pool don’t take him now, the very last thing anyone wants is that elite speed/ movement and ability at Arsenal in the PL.

Yeah I agree with you there mate. It’s just small sample size in pretty much a one league team. Just trying to make the point there’s been lots of players move after 1 good consistent season then they fail to deliver. On Arsenal I agree, I would much rather them ***** £80m on Rodger’s then get Barcola.

For the same reasons you like/want Barcola I hope there’s some truth in us and Summerville. Genuine electric pace that can dribble past players with ease. Also play on both sides.

You’d be looking at World record numbers next summer after another leap season of massive development like the last. So if you want the very best, to replace the GOAT very best, what do you do?

The winger market being so thin is all in the selling clubs favour.

Even if he doesn't sign for us ill be rooting for him for sure, as he seems like a humble, driven, and hard-working kid who is making the best of his abilities.

Thank god. I will give any player the benefit of the doubt if they sign for us to prove me wrong. I remember thinking Ox would be a waste of a signing, and he more than proved me wrong. However, something has terribly gone wrong in the recruitment department if Van de Ven is highlighted as an option. Horribly overrated is me being kind; he is genuinely all speed and brawn, with zero defensive nous or brain cells. Avoid avoid avoid.

Tonight you’re seeing the other side of Diomande. He’s mega inconsistency. His poor touch and technique and he has no interest in tracking back at all. I’m not saying there’s not a superstar in there. But there’s a **** of a lot to go before he reaches that or is anywhere near ready to be replacing Salah. It could go either way if you sign him for close to record numbers. Klopp right imo and he should stay in Germany another year or 2

I thought he was inconsistent but in a still a threat way. His touch was surprisingly off but he was torching Kimmich first half. But yeah agreed he is nowhere near the finished article but the winger and striker market is currently dead and he is the one with the highest potential out there right now.

Apart from that one kick and run past Kimmich which was in lead up to the goal he was pretty much invisible. I guess that’s gonna be the risk. 120m or whatever it costs for potential that may or may not work out. Will be fun to see how he does if you get him signed.

Aside from the fact he’s 19, you’ve patently not watched him many times for RBL then.

Not only is the winger market non-existent and the drop off from Diomande and Barcola to anyone else is massive, which plays into the selling clubs hands. It’s divvies like Utd and Arsenal, with the likes of Anthony and Mandueke, who have massively over inflated it.

You now either have to pay over the odds for top tier talent. Or you settle. One thing FSG have consistently shown, is they don’t ’settle.’

I’ve seen loads of match highlights the odd match and the vids of him. As you said he’s 19 so you’re going to get them inconstancies but they are there.

You’re buying what will likely be the 5/6 most expensive ever transfer to replace the World Class Mo Salah. Which there’s just as much chance of it not working out than working out. The pressure on him and the club for it to work out will be huge.

It’s a big summer for Liverpool imo in the market. Despite all the reasons you wanna list for last seasons fall off. The transfers were massively disappointing for the money spent. Hopefully this season those same players show there worth or it’s gonna be a massive failure on the recruitment side of the operation. IMO after last season you can’t get another 100m plus transfer wrong.
