The Manchester United Thread

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal on Sky Sports: "We will play with four at the back today, in midfield we play with four and Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney up front.
"I don't have five defenders fit so it was easier for me to decide the formation. Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are injured so I have to use the players I have available.
"Falcao has come from Colombia and has jetlag and he has to adapt to the culture and all the new players so I don't think it was right to start with him today."
 
Our players might not click today or in few games but how anyone can say that we didn't improve our midfield is beyond me. Blind, Herrera, Di Maria trio vs Carrick, Cleverley, Fellaini. It's not even a contest.

If it's a diamond then hopefully Di Maria in midfield and Mata as AM, if it's 4-3-3 then Di Maria on wings to provide width and pace.

Best thing about today's team is we can switch 3-5-2, 4-3-3, 4-2-3-1, 4-4-2 diamond with same players.

Look at the depth of our defence though >.<

Blackett as LB... Oh lord, well it shall be fun I guess and nervy as always.

Blackett is actually very good at LB and played most of his football there, also played there on loan last season and did well. Smalling also back and James for next week.

If we play with 4 man defense then depth is fine, just weak at RB area.

Can't comment much on him as I didn't see him, but Birmingham fans seem to think he was rubbish at LB for them last season. Time shall show us I suppose.

Hash that imo. Glad he is getting a chance and think has played well so far. Also LVG seems to rate him.
 
Passing,Movement,Pressing I like what im seeing. Blind looks like hes been playing for us for years, will be massive player this season and Herrera.
 
Glad we're playing a diamond, think it suits us so much better.

We look so much better already, and to say this is the first time a lot of them are playing together in another new system, think we've got a team that has the potential to be frighteningly good.
