At the end though, I would say only Chelsea and City have squads that are significantly stronger than United's. Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham squads have some real quality in certain areas but also huge holes in others just like United's
I agree though. Time needed for United squad to settle down and the results should soon start to flow. LVG needs to engineer results against the big boys in the next 3 games and that might give the club someone momentum. Wouldn't be surprised to see United get a win against Chelsea in all honestly
That's hindsight. When Liverpool made those signings many thought they have improved their team. Same with Arsenal when they signed Sanchez, Welbeck.
2 squad players, a new centreback and a loan from an MLS club isn't really "strengthening significantly". Especially as they sold Negredo.
Neither is Liverpool selling one of the world's best centre forwards then spunking the money on a bunch of mid tier players "strengthening significantly".
Arsenal, tbf, did definitely make some big upgrades.
City had superb first 11 so they made couple of excellent squad additions. That's strengthening. How significant? That depends.
For Liverpool they had no choice but to lose the CF and there isn't a player available to replace him. So they did a good job in upgrading their whole team.
