The Manchester United Thread

Think we will be in the market in Jan for at least a CM and CB if any good ones are available. Clevs wont be coming back, and Ando is going back to Brazil if reports are true.

Cabaye was out of favour at PSG, dunno if he still is, wouldn't mind him.

Read an interview he said he is going to fight for his place till end of season. Few games i have seen him has looked poor tbh, this season.

Yeh but we won't get much choice in January, he has PL experience and can orchestrate from the middle, he probably needs run of game to pick up some form.

There was a poll conducted by a PSG fansite recently about their opinions on him, what should be done due to his lack of playing time.

At least 49% said they would like to see him sold if the money was used to strengthen the side. Second most favoured opinion said he should be sold regardless (32%). Not everyone's opinion, but gives a slight indication of what people think. Still early doors though.

Once we get rid of Cleverley and Anderson in the summer, Cabaye would be an excellent addition. Should keep tabs on him closely.

Agree. I like Cabaye but would not want to pay 20-25m which was quoted Arsenal would have to pay in Jan.

United players and injuries, when arsenal boss our midfield for the first since in years and welbz bags a couple

We will be fine. Fellaini,Herrera,Carrick will dominate there CM more like :P And with there defence im more than confident we will score goals. Not to worried about Welbs tbh his league form has been poor 2 gls in 10 games, when Giroud is fit or the buy a No9 in Jan he will be out the team. Still fairly confident despite Blinds injury we will get a result :)

Yes - and lol the following!:

Alan Shearer recommended in April that (his friend) Steve Bruce get the Manchester United manager's job because he 'knows the club'. Just like he 'knew' Newcastle.

Astonishingly, United did not take his advice so Shearer has something of a beef with Louis van Gaal, who may have won the Eredivisie (four times), the Champions League, the UEFA Cup, La Liga (twice) and the Bundesliga, as well as taking an average side to the World Cup semi-finals, but falls way behind Bruce in the all-important 'knowing the club' stakes.

This beef manifests itself in Shearer's latest column as he waxes lyrical about Danny Welbeck, a man he describes as 'one of Europe's most prolific strikers', who will apparently haunt that silly sausage Van Gaal on Saturday.

Now when we think of 'Europe's most prolific strikers', we think about Sergio Aguero (12 league goals), Diego Costa (10), Carlos Tevez (8), Ronaldo (18) and Neymar (10). We do not think about Danny Welbeck (2).

You might think that 'one of Europe's most prolific strikers' would have done more than score two Premier League goals against Aston Villa and Hull City.

'I have always believed that as a frontman, Welbeck could get 20 goals a season,' says Shearer.

Well Alan, as a frontman, Welbeck is now on course for nine Premier League goals this season. That'll teach that bladdy Dutch fool.

Woodward has said in interview that Utd wont enter Jan window for short term fixes. He says him and LVG have targets if available they will get in Jan if not then we will wait till they are. Happy with this tbh!!!!

I think it's becoming a case of having to strengthen in January rather than choosing to. If you think targets are going to be easily bought in this window you are mislead BUT you expect Woody to say that however there HAS to be some reinforcements, especially with the injury situation. Blind being out just makes it worse.

LVG even said himself in interview he wont buy onless players he wants are available. Rather that way than buying stop gaps and filling the squad with more average players and increasing wage bill even further.

Injury situation has just begun, di maria is next on the cursed list followed by jones/rafael................again

TBH injury situation is not that bad by next week Rafa,Carrick,Evans,Jones,Falcao,De Gea should all be back most even this weekend. Smalling is back from suspension. And read somewhere that Young,Rojo,Lingard are only 3 weeks away, add to that Herrera is now 100% only leaves out Blind so not as bad as some making out.

Di Maria himself has spoken to Ole of Argentina and made things sounds much better "I'm fine, I have a small blow. I hope it does not swell much before the weekend. It also cut, the doctor did not want me to play on but I said I'd play a few minutes and left."

jamie jackson Erm, ff Fletcher has a slight injury, as reported by Sky, that's yet another Utd player in doubt...

Neil Ashton

Hodgson says Shaw (groin) and Welbeck (hamstring) will be fit for the weekend

Got to love international break.

Apparently Ogden has tweeted Evans,Rafa,Falcao,Carrick,Fletcher,Shaw,Di Maria all to be in squad for Arsenal.

Reports in Spain saying De Gea fine for Arsenal. Not looking to bad with the injuries, especially if Young,Jones,James,Lingard and Rojo are close as well :)
