I have a feeling that de gea and rooney might be the only two from the pre LVG era that he might want in and around the first team, maybe carrick and well rvp i guess for now.

I think he does rate a few more of the players and just needs better quality in certain areas. I will be happy to keep DeGea,Valdes,Rafa,Jones,Smalling,Rojo,Shaw,Blind,Carrick,Herrera,Fellaini,Mata,Januzaj,RVP,Falcao,Rooney,Wilson,DiMaria,Januzaj,Young,Valencia. Just need more quality and we will have a great team and squad depth next season.
 
Manchester United will attempt to prise right-back Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton in this transfer window, and sources say the club still want to make two signings in January, despite Louis van Gaal playing down all transfer speculation on Friday.

United's transfer plans have altered slightly, sources said, because of the chances of signing Kevin Strootman in this window receding, and attention has turned to the right and centre of defence.

Clyne is a long-term Old Trafford target, and all indications from Southampton are that he will leave in the summer. United's determination to ensure they finish in the top four, however, has meant they will attempt to negotiate with the high-flying south-coast club this January.

Van Gaal had privately been adamant that they should try and get Strootman this window, but Roma have been completely unwilling to sell now, and the Dutch coach is accepting they will have to wait until the summer for a deal that could cost up to 40 million pounds.

Sources say United currently have a list of up to 12 targets -- with many obvious fall-backs -- as they seek to bolster two positions. Some of the names have been much discussed, from Mats Hummels and Diego Godin to Ron Vlaar, but United are also said to be interested in Marquinhos of Paris Saint-Germain.

As regards the complicated Radamel Falcao situation, that will ultimately come down to Monaco's demands, and the current asking price -- 43.5 million pounds -- would be unfeasible.

United are also unlikely to make any sales in this window, but Van Gaal may well restructure the entire defence in the summer.

There's more chance of Ronaldo returning than Bale coming to United. I would go that far and say Real have no desire to sell Bale. By Real I mean Perez.
 
Is LVG serious? he says falcao needs to prove himself, so he finally a bit fit, gets run of games ,starts scoring and gets dropped not even to the fecking bench... i know RF needs to secure a contract but really? that was the answer LVG gave today?

He does still need to prove himself. And was dropped for other reasons VG gave after saints game.

thing is if we play like **** and lose will every 1 be calling for lvg head like with moyes or is every 1 going to give him time unlike with moyes?

They'll give him time, mostly due the 'team is new, lots money spent, still gelling' arguement.
 
Fully expecting another ***** performance but wouldn't be surprised if we won or lost, depends if we actually get the ball in the final 3rd instead of playing it around the back 100 times.

What would surprise me, would be a expansive rock em sock em full throttle performance.

At the end of the day Moyes took over the season after winning the league and a team full of experience and confidence. He then alienated most the players by his training methods and man management. All we needed was a few additions which he could not add/attract for some reason or another then over spent on Mata/Fellaini who he failed to get the best out of. He never gave me 1 iota of confidence in his press conferences or like he knew how to take the club forward. Then saying **** like we need to be like CITY wtf! LVG has taken over a team smashed of confidence after Moyes broke all the good records we had. Had taken a team that lost over 2000 games experience. LVG has managed to get the best out of players Moyes took over from Fergie and players Moyes bought himself. LVG has had to deal with a massive in and out of players, and added some much needed quality and depth to our squad in one Summer where we was never gonna fix everything in the squad that needed fixing. And to add to that most probably our most injury hit season that I can ever remember and most of the new signings not even being fit to play. And LVG has a clear plan and strategy in mind when it comes to transfers and wont buy anything that wont improve the team to take us back to the top again. Things got worse during Moyes season as it went on, I am pretty sure LVG will have a better second half to the season and keep us in the top for and get us back in the CL. Which never looked liked being the case with Moyes who just sank deeper and deeper into his seat game by game. I am willing to give LVG time as he is completely changing all aspects of the club from top to bottom and his pedigree makes me sure he will do it right!
 
Still mind boggling that we only signed fellaini and then mata in jan, virtually two number 10's ffs.

Whats more bogling is that he could not get the best out of a player he worked with for years. And we only got Mata because he was Jose reject. Luckily for us!
