Just seen that LVG will talk about his formation selection in the embargoed part of his presser today. Rumour is not happy with defence and mainly due to lack of FB cover for playing it.

Strange that he is only seeing this now, we all knew we had no fullback cover and with all the money spent, some poor decision making here.

They do if LVG thought Rojo and Blind would cover LB which they can and well. And Valencia to cover RB. But agree our FB cover has been poor and seems as if non of the Reserves are deemed good enough.

This is going back to the fergie days, we had the twins who were looking good, o'shea and brown both better at fullback than jones and smalling but then we sold them both, then fabio and rafael had injury problems and then one got sold and we never signed someone to deputise rafael, same happened with evra also we ended with some rubbish from holland in buttner but becuase the midfield was poor and we then needed cb's so that position has been neglected for years.

Shaw is a step in the right direction though, just need a proper right back now.

I agree mate. Rafa injuries are frustrating as heck we can all see his quality when he plays! Fabio and Buttner were never good enough imo maybe as cover but not very good cover tbh. I really hope we get cover at both FB positions this summer!

According to FM his contract runs for another couple of years yet.

Unless i've missed something Zidane is making it out to be a free transfer?

Surely he is adequate cover considering Madrid bumped him up from Castilla and named him in their European squad list, and are look set to sign him.

Seen quotes from 2.5m to 4m. I rated him by his performances in the Reserves last season. I have no idea what was like at training or what went on behind closed doors. But I do know a few Madrid fans from Spain and they say he has been ok at Castilla but nothing more, and have no clue why they have bumped him to the European squad. And dout very much he will have a good career there.
