So LVG is still persisting with this two striker nonsense? Wouldn't mind it if we actually had the strikers and midfielders to play a proper 442

Not Fellaini LOL! We have switched to 4231 during matches a few times. Im not a fan of 2 STRs tbh, but would like to see Rooney and Falcao given a go. Rooney is the type of player to get the best out of Falcao. Unselfish and good at creating and making space with his runs. Could just happen to stumble on the perfect partnership, can potentially be like Rooney and Tevez :)

Two up top even with our current crop of **** should be ok against sunderland, it's just whether it's the diamond or a flat 442 if you'd like.

It won't be like rooney and tevez, carlos was class for us when he played and that wayne was very different to this one.

Falcao is short on confidence, probably, and Rooney has lost some of the pace, plus his style of play is very different compared to back then..

A 4-3-3 could be interesting.. di Maria and Januzaj/Mata cutting inside, Rooney dropping deep from upfront as lone striker, Shaw and Rafael bombing forward, Blind shielding the defence, and Fellaini and Herrera in midfield..

I think they can complement each other well, and actually think it will be good. Falcao will be in beast mode after his new Bambino :)

There is no chance Rafa is playing. And Rooney may have lost a bit of pace but is still quick over 10-15 yards and explosive around the box. We really need to stop playing with Fellaini is poor on the ball and slow in possession.

Wouldn't expect anything better than what forlan produced, wouldn't be surprised if someone told me he had another poor game and is subbed off at 60mins and after that we play better.

Nah a 433 is to obvious for us to try and not clever enough like fellaini as a left forward or rooney in midfield or **** even a proper rb starting. LVG won't got for that.

Sold Forlan to early imo. Falcao gonna have a stormer even gonna put a bet on 1st scorer :)

If we go 4-3-3, we have no choice but to play Fellaini, since Carrick is injured and is kinda less mobile. Unless you play Mata in CM and Januzaj on the right. Or ****, Young on the left and di MAria on the right. 4-3-3 is still possible, but I'd prefer Rafael over any other RB we have currently, if he is fit. His attacking sense is excellent.

I would play 4231 De Gea, Valencia,Smalling,Rojo,Shaw,Blind,Herrera,Di Maria,Mata,Rooney,Falcao.

With that formation, definitely Rafael over Valencia. Provides width, and actually crosses decently, as compared to dear Valencia who just passes back. But I'd rather have Mata in the hole and Rooney upfront, and have Mata try to carve out their defence.
 
Can't believe people would want valencia over an actual footballer like rafael.

LVG not gonna play Rafa been fit for weeks playing in the Reserves. He is done at this club! Rooney is not a STR anymore. Mata must play though imo links play so well!

I can think of plenty of names who should be done at the club before rafa is, just a shame he's always injured.
 
I don't think anyone genuinely wants Rafael gone, but his lack of reliability is indefensible. He could still be great for some mid-table teams, but I don't see him ever having a real career on the top level.

In club like United, there's always 2-3 guys who'd love to take your place. You need to be as consistent as a morning *****, or you're out.
