The Manchester United Thread

I wonder just how much **** Di Maria took in the backroom. The look of shock on Rooney's face when he grabbed ref's shirt tells me there's probably gonna be blood involved.

Keane was right on BBC best keeper in the world on current form. I know things look bleak atm but i am sure things will be better and we will be challenging for the title next season.

Not even sure I but into this it'll be better next season, plus we won't be challenging with that midfield or defence.

Look at Lvg career always better 2nd season and we won't even have the same midfield or defence not even close.

So the money was spent poorly if you also agree with that. Not everything goes in a pattern, maybe this will be LVG's failure. Still don't think he realised how tough and big of a job it was and massively underrated the league.

I don't even know where are you getting that from. He blew up 150 milion on transfers because he underrated the league?

Thanks for.... answering nothing. Btw Idk what you are on about I never claimed anything about Arsenal before this match ripping us to shreds so you might want to get your facts right before posting.

It could of been more anyway, did you not see the De Gea saves?

We could have had a few more ourselves if we were more clinical in the first half...we didn't text sczeney when we should have...

>_> Dude, it can always be more. That's why a keeper is there. We played decently, and probably could have won, if it weren't for stupid, ****** Valencia.

Also pathetic from Di Maria and Januzaj, diving all around the pitch. Sanchez also dived just mins before Di Maria but that was called as foul, still that doesn't excuse what Di Maria and Januzaj did.

Still funny though Liverpool fans taking **** on that when they have Sturridge, Sterling, Gerrard and also their hero is one of the biggest ever cheat in the world.

Changing manager, players etc works pretty well for Chelsea and Madrid. Oh and if it was fm I would put some pace in out attack, play attacking mentality and pass into space.

>_> Yes, that's your play style. That is not LvG's play style. May not be suiting the fan's style, but give him some time, shall we? LvG likes the defensive style of play, as long as he can make it work, fair play to him.

And really? Changing managers works? Chelsea consistently won the Laague under a single manager - Mourinho - 2004-2006. Other times, they were almost always in the top 4, but didn't consistently win. As for Madrid? Please don't even compare. IT was a two horse race, literally, until about 2 or so years ago. Of course they'll find it easier.

Also, who in the holy **** is comparing LvG to Moyes? Are you seriously kidding me? Anyone who is doing so is just being ridiculous, and hasn't watched us last season at all.. Moyes managed to **** off most of the players, lost the dressing room, embarassed the club in press conferences, lost on a variety of excellent, already planned out transfers, replaced WC staff with average people, did nothing to the youth setup, had either passing sideways or wayward crossing as his mojo.. I could go on and on. I personally had wanted to give Moyes a chance, until I actually realised what went on on a deeper scale.. >_>

Compared to that, LvG has got in some good staff, got in really good players, improved the youth setup, given a chance to youngsters, club is still actually present in top 4 and actually knows what he is doing with the team. ****, he managed to get Young and Fellaini playing decent football again. The way people are going on about, it's almost as if LvG is an inhuman who is not supposed to make mistakes. Yes, he does make mistakes, why is that so strange? He's spent 150M, but players have turned out reasonably well? Falcao has been horribad, but other than that, Herrera and Blind have been excellent. Shaw has been good barring injuries. Rojo has been outstanding. di Maria, well, he was excellent initially, but is out of form now. Not every player can be in excellent form all the time, players do have bad patches, he'll get over it. The way people are reacting, it's like di Maria is solely responsible for the **** that is happening, along with LvG. Yes, he may be over defensive at times, but this is still a new league for him, he is trying to get adjusted to the way he wants to play. Not every manager wants to go gung-ho into the game, scoring 4 goals but conceding almost the same.

Other than that, as I said last week, I still think it's time Valencia was booted out of the team and Rafael given a chance. I still ******* don't know what exactly Valencia brings to the team, other than compromising other players.

If we check our first 11 then with just 2-3 signings we can mount title challenge, we have quality players just needs a proper leader in defense.

De Gea

Rafael NewCB Rojo Shaw

ToughCM Herrera

Nani Mata Di Maria

Rooney

Team is more or less set, just need a CB who is a leader, CM like Schneiderlin who is good on the ball and also works incredibly hard.

If Mata is moved on then Rooney as #10 and a pacey, trickery striker would make our team complete and compete with the best.

Rafael should play every single game, he makes our right side looks far more better.

Since it's LvG, it's probably 4-3-3..

de Gea
Rafael - New CB - Rojo - Shaw
Blind/Carrick
New CM - Herrera
di Maria - Depay
Rooney

But, the thing is, if what someone posted recently about LvG's philosophy is true, then Rafael won't be playing, since he's attacking minded, and LvG apparently dislikes that in a WB. We'll know for sure next mmatch if Valencia or someone else still gets the nod over Rafael. I'd have thought someone like Rafael would be perfect behind di Maria on the right, since he can provide width while di Maria cuts in, but guess that's not to be. Really dislike Valencia on the pitch.

4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 are same, just that #10 is considered as part of 3 in midfield by LVG. For his 3 midfielders are 1 DM, 1B2B and 1 #10 player.

People also seem to forget that Fergies early days were not exactly stellar and look how that turned out. Even Fergies last 2 seasons was pretty dire to watch scrapping 1-0 and 2-1 wins against even the lesser teams. People need to chill out and just give the man time.

Fergie didnt inhert a top 2 side though.

As for Valencia i can only imagine those who are in the team over seemingly better players under LVG are purely there as they do what they are told and thats prob about it.

On a side note, why do people say LVG has changed/improved the youth 'system' ? he's given players a debut sure but what else has changed in the set-up? just curious.

Lucky for LVG , Moyes overhauled the scouting system, he'd have lost the plot at the setup.

Fergie didn't spend £150m in his first transfer window though

Can someone also elaborate on these mystic changes that Van Gaal has made to the 'youth system' and 'club set up'. Everyone loves asserting how he has done so much good for the club behind the scenes yet I never really see any concrete details in their post
