The Manchester United Thread

No, I wouldn't really. Has potential, but still unclear as to whether he'll fulfill it. Depay is better. Also, Sterling needs to improve on his finishing, a lot.

Oh, and more importantly, he's a Liverpool player. Wouldn't be sold to us, and ****, wouldn't want him here. Some traditions are important.
Actually I think he is better than Depay atm having watched Depay very much for 3 seasons, it's only this year he has improved so much. And for being a pool player what a poor excuse not to sign someone of his quality lol!

Lol, still not happening. Problem with transfer rumours is making mountain out of a molehill. I'd compare that situation to LvG lambasting di Maria after a game. Verratti is going nowhere.. Atleast, probably not, you never know in today's world, but it is very, very unlikely.
Difference is is that Blanc has critisised him on numerous occasion and PSG want Pogba. I can defo see Verratti leaving to make way. But will all unfold in what will be a crazy Summer :-)

Sterling's end product makes me not want him, his crossing leaves a lot to be desired as well, I don't know where he would fit in our team he doesn't have a chance of getting in the no.10 position with the likes of Mata, Rooney hovering around there.

We need more of a natural winger and to me Sterling wouldn't fill that role well, rather have Nani back and sign Depay.

You're making it sound like Sterling's world class. He's not. He's got good pace, good dribbling, but the same is true for a lot of player. Makes a lot of bad decisions, not that good finishing ability, and needs good players around him. Atm, he's definitely more suited as a winger out wide, crossing in (Navas) than anything else. And not WC at that too..

Also, poor excuse? IF you're saying such a thing, then you're under-estimating the rivalry between us and Liverpool, or you need to revisit it. City, Arsenal etc doesn't matter, but never have done a direct transfer with Liverpool for a long time, and hopefully never will.

Also, Depay was pretty good last season, just that he was a lot selfish and made bad decisions. But that has improved with this year. And Sterling, compared to the high last year, has definitely had a not so good year. None of those make me want Sterling.

Well considering we don't play with a number 10 anyway that's void. And Sterling atm is better than the other 2 you have mentioned.

PSG want Pogba, true, but I highly doubt he'll bother with them. Considering his ambition, he wouldn't want to be in a club where the chances of winning the CL is less, at best. Anyhow, with Madrid most probably interested in him, and Chelsea and us, I'd consider PSG is the last on his list of potential destinations..

Sterling is not better than Nani, he's had one truely good season ffs and has been a shadow of the player this season, we want a winger who can actually cross a ball well.

Depay has been better than Sterling this season and like Sherkey said, his selfishness let him down before but if he removes that, which he appears to, he's got all the tools to be better anyway.

And anyhow, this is a weird discussion relating to Sterling, it isn't gonna happen. At all. Never. Liverpool refuse to sell to other PL rivals, no way in **** will a Sterling move to United happen, their owners would get stoned. Like I said, BS rumour.

So, in essence, a 'moo' point. Leave it.

I have never said once Sterling is world class but still better atm than Depay if only just and has proved in a tougher league against better oppo. I would prefer Depay tbh but that's just personal preference. And the rivalry thing won't matter as Rodgers has said the club won't sell. So he will be free to leave as he won't be tied by pool by that time.

I know, people are over-estimating Sterling, a lot... Surprisingly, people in the Liverpool thread are more grounded about him, probably considering his contract situation. Sterling is a talent, a really good talent, but not more than that. Least, not yet. He's not WC, **** no. Depay is definitely better atm.

Sterling has been more consistent than Nani over the last 2 seasons that's for sure. All ifs and buts both players have pros and cons but to turn sterling down if there was a chance would be mad. We can sign him and Depay you know

not moot if pool make him run out his contract :-)

Liverpool said the same thing with the Suarez situation, most clubs do regarding players. It's just a stance to milk the most should they decide to sell. Sterling will be sold if he refuses to sign a new deal, there's no doubt about that. Too much money will be involved if they decide to let him move on a free. And they'll just get a pittance if he moves as a free transfer.

Also, you prefer Otamendi over Hummels based on current form. IF that's the case, Depay should definitely be in over Sterling based on current form. Also, not all players playing in a weaker league fail when coming to a tougher league. We've had crazy examples of our own (RvN, CR7).. I think Depay has enough about his game so to not fail horribly when it comes to playing here.

So sterling has one good season and he's deemed no go. Same goes for Depay yes let's sign him. Ok......

Yeah, thing is, Depay is improving with each season. Sterling has gone down this season. Last season was a huge high since he had Suarez and Sturridge to form a partnership with. This season, when he's had to shoulder the burden, he's been largely disappointing. Unlike Depay, who's been pretty much doing so since last season.

I did mention Sterling needs good players around him to bring out his best, probably. Atleast, players suiting his playstyle. ATM, atleast.

I never said he would struggle ever so you just made that up. And and I would prefer Hummels over Otamendi as he is the better all round player.

A lot of that's to do with playing at WB IMO as many Pool fans have stated also since switching to 343.

>_> Weren't you the one always mentioning the fact that Hummels has had a horrible season whenever Hummels' name came up, and (separately) advocating Otamendi? Or was that just playing Devil's Advocate?

Hm, even when he was used in a front 3 initially this season (when Sturridge was out), he wasn't that impressive. Had a decent enough time, but not THAT good. At WB, he's definitely wasted, lol. I'm expecting him to play upfront today..

And speaking of Hummels rumours, if what was posted earlier about him being allowed to leave was true, we really should go nuts all for him. Leader, consistent, very less brain-farts and a good game all around. Plus, will be killer for set-pieces.

YES PLEASE!
