The Manchester United Thread

Typical Madrid, horrible club. Really feel for Navas in this situation. Totally dumped by Madrid in favour to bring someone else in, only to now have to turn it round and somehow show he was worth anything to them. When in reality he now knows he was worthless and dispensable.

Reckon United can spin this into getting De Gea to stay? Looks an awful like they've deliberately sabotaged their own deal..
3/10 chance. First thing first, get him back in the side, get the fans showing him the kind of love he wouldnt necessarily get at Madrid, then offer him the deal again. United could definitely spin it, and he might well see it for himself, but it's how bad he wants to be back in Spain that will count.

He's a great keeper, and he;s been brilliant despite having this for a whole year. I've long disliked Madrid, and this just adds to it.

Yeah. Navas is such a likeable player, brave as **** and absolutely determined never to be beaten. I genuinely feel bad for the guy.

He got caught up in the middle of bullshit politics with Casillas last year, then he got promised first squad after Iker left, and in just few months the whole nonsense starts again. He deserves better then this.

Wonder if Navas will even be our no.1 choice if De Gea goes as expected next year.

I really hope De Gea does a U-turn signs a new contract and stays but I still can't see it.

I think they will target someone like Leno instead. I'd have Navas for sure

My thoughts exactly, which is sad for Navas because he'll be shipped out to god knows where. Can't even think of another top club that he deserves to play at that will need a first-team keeper.

Yeah, still unlikely, but United in a much better position now than a week ago. Everything about the statement was as much about highlighting the differences between the clubs as it was defending themselves.

He'll be almost 30 by then. So I guess United will look at different options.

That's what's ******* me off the most. Navas had probably his last shot at becoming a guaranteed starter in a massive club, and with a little luck pass into the football legend. Instead Perez pretty much ruined his career at its peak by dicking him around.

So he's a used condom is what your saying.

I feel sorry for DDG and Navas. DDG was finally gonna get his move. Navas was gonna get a chance to prove himself and seemed really keen to join. But no, Madrid has to **** about and balls it up..

I hope DDG see's this and realizes it was Madrids fault and as a **** you, sign a new contract with a release clause of £50million or something.

I'm probably echoing someone but, the quicker he's back in the side, the better. Fans will make him atone for what he's done - even though he's really not done anything at all - but time will heal what was a painfully long saga.

Romero will be delighted I'm sure, to a point. Alleviates pressure on him stepping up to be someone he clearly isn't. De Gea doesn't burn anymore bridges, but still has options. It works out in a lot of ways too. As for Navas, it's probably a no-go now. Madrid are incensed, hilariously.

We have a saying in our part of the world that a woman's pubic hair can pull ships ... So all this that you say is all well and good but unless he splits up with Edurne ...

So did valdez and van gaal patch things up?
He put the Man Utd related stuffs back on his twitter profile, so maybe? It could also be the fact that he realize he is not going anywhere this window so might as well put them back on.

You know guys, if I were Woodward I'd have matched Navas' release clause yesterday to leave flaming Madrid goalieless. :P
