Tbh, I never thought about the Shaw injury affecting him. He spend pre-season with him training to understand each other so they can work in sync on the left, and then suddenly Shaw is out for the season and Memphis has to get used to being the main threat instead of having Shaw around to overlap and help.

No idea if that makes any sense.

Memphis hardly uses shaw's overlapping runs tho

Tbf, you are right, but he uses them in the sense that Shaw is the distraction which lets him cut inside and try something. And when he does (did) Shaw would rip apart there defense easily with his speed and whip in a decent ball.

LVG has confirmed that Giggs HAS spoken to Memphis. He doesn't mention what was said but considering LVG mentioned it while talking about Memphis needing to knuckle down and get used to the teams philosophy, maybe the reports of what giggs has said may not be that far off the mark.

Not relevant to Man Utd now but Moyes appears to be close to getting sacked in Sociedad. Anoeta was shouting "Moyes go home" and the club's ambition is to get back to Europe, which seems to be a near impossible task at the moment with him at helm.

Tbh, never rated Moyes as a manager.

Who knows?? But it seems Mike. is the resident ITK so we will go with what he says

Starting lineup prediction for tonight, guys? I wouldn't make a single change, that's for sure. :D

Not about his outside life. But about what is needed on the pitch. Explictly not the same thing though. Made that distinction earlier

Most of the time Memphis would totally waste Shaw's runs. Young on the other hand, uses them brilliantly.

Why bring a winger in at RB for a tough away game in a very tight group? And the inexperienced Lindgaard too with arguably your bet player this year sat on the bench.

At least he's right at full strength the other 9 positions but Van Gaal is a head scratcher at times.

Valencia played right back all last season and played there quite a few times the season prior to that. Stats wise he was one of the leagues best right backs last season iirc. Considering we need to rotate the squad, it was always on the cards since he's our second choice RB.

As for Lingard, If we cant win a game with one youngster in the starting line-up and a relatively first choice XI, we dont really deserve to be in the competition. Lingard needs games. Its the perfect opportunity to play him.

You're comfortable with Valencia at RB?

I thought you were the one along with Zz bemoaning having to have him there this past summer? Apologies if I'm mistaking you for someone else.

Watch out for #88 upfront. Doumbia. Very tidy forward.

He stood out the last time out against PSV as I channel hopping.

Tough one this.

Because Mata has played just about every single game. and Lingard has been really impressive. It's not like we've changed half the side.
