The Manchester United Thread

Why does it strengthen our hand on De Gea going to Madrid anyway? He's under a long bumper contract now so United had no pressure whatsoever anyway on selling.

You weren't expecting Madrid to return this summer?

Maybe, but if they struggled to get him last summer with 1 year left so good luck to them if they try again now. The only way it would remotely happen is if it was HUUUUUUUUUGE money, United called all the shots last summer so imagine what they'd be like now that he's under a bumper contract?

He's like our star player and we'd only sell if it was silly money, if at all. Personally I don't even think they'd let him go for silly money either. Madrid missed their chance to sign De Gea, it's all over tbf.

Obviously it would be huge money. They'd most likely have to beat Buffon's transfer record to poach him out of United, no question about it.

Flat Buffon's record that is, I don't think that fee will ever be beaten if adjusting for inflation.

- Hey David, Jorge here again.

- Sap?

- Still want to go to Madrid?

- Well let's see. The city is better. The weather is better. The team is better. I'd get paid more. I'll live in my home town. I'll probably become a starter in national team. My girlfriend will be closer so no more blueballs.

- Well, there's the fax machine thing...

- Oh that. You're absolutely right Jorge. **** no, I don't want anything to do with a club that can't keep their office equipment well mantained.

Alright, alright :D Got the message. :D

He has a release clause I believe

Not the next most likely as they will appeal and drown FIFA in paperwork which allows them time next summer.

Few Spanish reporters said they can't do that as they got verdict in Jan and have enough time to appeal and get it done. Barca got the verdict in April so they didn't have much time.

So Madrid might be banned for 2016-17 transfer windows.

Interesting hearing today Ferguson was very interested in Klopp replacing him back in 2013.

Never knew that.

He is retiring. Again just a nothing news made to look like sensation because of lack of transfer news.

Edit: Also it's about time we revamp the whole structure.
Has he's tenure been any good tbh. Welbeck, Cleverly etc... Not exactly pulling up any trees.

Yeah, we are hardly churning out class players in his tenure. It's about time for change. Since Van Gaal has bad relationship with media everything is a sensation news.

One game I hate the most, Liverpool are usually **** but they raise their game when playing ManUtd.

Had Van Gaal made the team playing to their potential, wouldn't have worried about this Liverpool team but we are playing well below our level and Liverpool have raised their game in big games this season.

Hopefully we nick 3 points and I would settle for one more most boring Van Gaal game if it means 3 points.

Midpoint of the transfer window and we are not linked with any player. This squad is not enough with the injury problems we have and Europa league starting next month. We have to add at least LB.

Also what I don't understand is why Van Gaal plays Darmian as LB and Young as RB. Young has played as LB many times and he is better attacker from left wing, similarly Darmian's natural position is RB. Sometimes Van Gaal tries to be too clever and ****s up everything. In 1 shot, he is playing 2 players out of position.

Can't wait to have a manager who can keep things simple and play exciting football.

I expect a smooth ride tbh. Van Gaal delivers in most of the big games, it's the theoretically easy games where he has problems.

Meanwhile Liverpool under Klopp had been about as consistent as pensioner's erections.

Liverpool is getting on a role right now. Firmino as a F9 was impressive and he can be bigger problem to United defense. Last four away games United havent won and last 3 away games U have conceded 7 goals. I think that Live will push hard and United will stay more deep and will go only for counters. It will be interesting to see how United can handel Liverpools high pressure.
Fellaini should be on the bench for this game.

Fellaini should start IMO. Their defense is **** and their GK is even worse. We can hit them from set pieces, Fellaini is bigger threat.

Yeah, whole season they are sort of irrelevant but when it comes to ManUtd they will up their game.

Does anyone believe LVG's job is on the line with the Liverpool result? It should be but honestly I think we haven't got the balls to make a decision or else it would of been done a while ago.
