The Manchester United Thread

Don't underestimate the incompetence of our board, but tbh if the Inter director said Mourinho is going to Manchester, it must be a done deal.

Reading around today it just seems more speculation that will continue relentlessly until you either appoint him or he goes elsewhere.

As bad as it sounded Thursday? Saw nothing of it but I've seen the vine of Utd fans in Denmark telling the players straight how 'f-ing ****' they all are. Which was, uhmmm ..... yeah.

How the **** are there stories suggesting the board are stuck over (arguably) the 2nd best manager in world football and a manager whose only ever caretaker'd? I'm all for Jose being a ****, but when he's your ****, you don't care.

It's probably Ferguson and Charlton blocking it vs. the business people who want him. And watching some of the reactions online, I don't blame them. I've seen people calling Charlton old man who needs to leave for the good of the club. That's what you get when you attract millions of plastics from all over the world.

You surely don't see the irony in this post :P

If we don't win today then Van Gaal should just resign.

Shrewsbury are 21st in League 1 scoring just 37 goals and conceding 51 goals in 31 games.

In the last 6 Home games they lost 4 and won 1 drawing the other game.

If we consider only league games then in the last 6 home games they lost 5 and drew 2 game.

If we can't even beat that is in such a worst form then Van Gaal should be left behind the team bus.

I bet my savings it's gonna be a draw. :D

Yeh, not much has been said about this, the United support away is usually fantastic and behind the team no matter what.

But that reaction at the end of that game was the worst in decades, they were literally abusing the team and everything they deserved quite frankly, after that performance.

Does anyone know how Shrewsbury play? If they are a team who tries to get the ball down and play with it then we should win but if they are a direct team going from back to front can see us really struggling again.

Then again we'll probably struggle no matter how they play, in that last game I can't even remember us testing the keeper once in second half, beyond pathetic.

This week will decide LVG's job for sure, if he out from FA cup and EL, and doesn't win with Arsenal, he's out next Monday.

Will it really take 2 more disastrous results in the next 3 games to decide his future? We are the only club who would give a manager this much time, I just find it staggering how he keeps on getting more chances.

After the horror show of that last game, anything but a win tonight isn't good enough against a league one team who are fighting for relegation I'll add.

In a lot of ways we kind of got lucky only losing 2-1 in our last game because it could and should of been more.

I still find it funny how LVG a manager of his so called 'calibre' has been totally outclassed by Sam Allardyce and Jess Thorup in his last two games.

You're playing every 3 days up until mid March, no sensible manager would agree to take over in the middle of such constipated schedule. The new guy would have to play half a dozen games before he even learns how to find the toilet in Old Trafford.

Which is why some of us have said from the start that LVG should've been booted in December before the cup games start ramping up. Right now it's the logistics of fixture schedule keeping him in the job more than anything else.

Yeh, anything after December is on the board's head quite frankly, LVG should of been gone by then.

But having said that, I get your point but no one is saying we need a brand new manager to end this season. I mean I'd personally take an interim like Giggs or Warren Joyce until the end of the season because I think it couldn't get any worse than this anyway.

he'll win the FA cup tie, every one will say yeah Its Shrewsbury ffs.
battered by Arsenal - (but we're still in the cups.)
He'll win the 2nd leg but lose the derby,
win the 1st leg next round,
by that point, well **** it, its April.. might as well see it out...
lose the 2nd leg. Confirm Rafa as boss. :)

It'll be up and down every game. We're ****, glimmer of football, we're **** again...

I wouldn't be shocked if Giggs would bail out of that "opportunity" too. 13 players injured, squad filled with ****** youngsters out of desperation, terrible situation in every competition, he'd be playing in fire and will only ruin his (lack of) reputation in the process.

The plan was for him to take over once the club is stable again, not to take the job in circumstances that are likely to crush even the most seasoned managers.
