The Manchester United Thread

Will it really take 2 more disastrous results in the next 3 games to decide his future? We are the only club who would give a manager this much time, I just find it staggering how he keeps on getting more chances.

You're playing every 3 days up until mid March, no sensible manager would agree to take over in the middle of such constipated schedule. The new guy would have to play half a dozen games before he even learns how to find the toilet in Old Trafford.

Which is why some of us have said from the start that LVG should've been booted in December before the cup games start ramping up. Right now it's the logistics of fixture schedule keeping him in the job more than anything else.

Yeh, anything after December is on the board's head quite frankly, LVG should of been gone by then.

But having said that, I get your point but no one is saying we need a brand new manager to end this season. I mean I'd personally take an interim like Giggs or Warren Joyce until the end of the season because I think it couldn't get any worse than this anyway.

he'll win the FA cup tie, every one will say yeah Its Shrewsbury ffs.
battered by Arsenal - (but we're still in the cups.)
He'll win the 2nd leg but lose the derby,
win the 1st leg next round,
by that point, well **** it, its April.. might as well see it out...
lose the 2nd leg. Confirm Rafa as boss. :)

It'll be up and down every game. We're ****, glimmer of football, we're **** again...

I wouldn't be shocked if Giggs would bail out of that "opportunity" too. 13 players injured, squad filled with ****** youngsters out of desperation, terrible situation in every competition, he'd be playing in fire and will only ruin his (lack of) reputation in the process.

The plan was for him to take over once the club is stable again, not to take the job in circumstances that are likely to crush even the most seasoned managers.

More rumors of Felipe Anderson from Lazio to United again

If we have really bought this douche for 60m euros like the president has supposedly claimed and considering our current mess/managerial situation, Woodward should be sacked on the spot, wtf would be the point of this big money signing?

I still find it funny how LVG a manager of his so called 'calibre' has been totally outclassed by Sam Allardyce and Jess Thorup in his last two games.

Yeah and Brian Clough relegated his club but is rated among the best.

Saying Van Gaal should be sacked in 1 thing but to question his status in football is just foolishness.

I wouldn't even go up to 30 million for him tbh!

Lol. Donald Love is cup tied for the Shrewberry game.

What now, U-15 right back will play? Unbelievable this.

There are few alternatives. Either play McNair as RB and play either Tuanzebe or Fosu Mensah as CB or just promote Tyler Reid as RB or just play Fosu Mensah as RB. Fosu Mensah played as RB few times and made some runs that will make United wingers of past very proud.

Lol, if we sign this speed merchant for big money then I would have to stop supporting Woody.

Yeah I can get behind this, he may have failed at United but his quality as a top class manager and coach should not really come into question. He has earned this reputation over the years and is someone as a coach I really like and I know their are other posters who share my opinion.

It just all went pete tong at United and is just one of those things. I was saying to an Everton fan yesterday when you look at how Moyes and LVG have struggled it makes Fergie look even more of a monster of a coach and he was in agreement.

Just to clarify. At no point did the United away lot abuse the team at that game. They were making light of the situation.

The fact that people want to question LVG's ability as a manager but then turn around and say that Mou should be our next manager makes me confused.

Mou performed worse than LVG this season and yet you're going to turn around and say that LVG is bad and Mou is good.

This is Jose's worst 6 months in his career. Van Gaal was given close to 2 years and team has barely improved.

Not according to the United fans who were there at the game on the United We Stand podcast and Andy Mitten. They reckon it was one of the worst reactions in decades.

But anyway whether they were saying the abuse 'jokingly' or not the fact is that the when the away fans start to turn, you know it's a dire situation, we have one of the best away supporting fans.

Plus after that last performance they really did deserve any abuse they got from the fans.

Right, except his last year in Madrid was utter ****. His 1st year in Chelsea he finished the same place as Benitez the year before, and that's after £100 million of investment. 2nd year in Chelsea he had good 6 months of convincing football and after that they were utter ****. Then they continued to be utter **** half a year into the next season.

No matter how you put it, the man only had 6 months of good football in last 3.5 years. It boggles the mind how some people believe he will arrive to OT a conquering hero and turn the club around.

By Jose's standard those were **** seasons just like how finishing 2nd was **** season for Fergie.

Also Rafa finished with 75 points whereas Jose with 82 points. So same position but lot of improvement in points.

I don't think anyone defends Jose's defensive style in big games but his games won't be as boring as this United games. On top of that at least he wins some trophies before having a meltdown.

Also my post is correct. Whatever might be the ****, this period was the worst of his career.

6 months of good football.

Madrid - Won Supercup, Finished 2nd, Runners up cup, CL Semis
Chelsea - Finished 3rd, won 1 cup, won 1 league.

I'll take it.
