The Manchester United Thread

It really is a no brainier! Keeps Rooney away from playing STR, is on a free, will be good experience to learn from for Wilson,Rashford,Martial. Will guarantee goals and assists, still has a few years in him, would be huge commercially, Prem defences would not think there gonna get an easy ride like they have as late. Like I said no brainier!

God I can just imagine it next season vs City and Zlatan scores a last minute winner the Mou runs past Pep celebrating like when he won the CL with Inter :)

FWIW zz, I currently don't see Utd as seriously challenging next year even with Mourinho personally.

Add Ibrahimovic's goals and that flips and the fear seriously then becomes the Van Persie effect like your last league triumph in elevating an ordinary-good group to the title.

I don't want him anywhere near your club if that helps.

You sound more like a United fan than Zz. That says a lot about Zz. And you :^)

With Jose alone, United become a comfortable top 4 side.

With a few canny signings they become a title candidate. and one that match Good prem standards, not this seasons dross.

Zlatan and Jose on their own, can almost deliver a title.

Pick up some star dust with it, and you;re cooking.

Throw in a DOR and you are future proofed. Not that hard.

Am going to email this post to Ed straight away :P

I can see why someone would want Zlatan and he may well bring a season of goals but for me the attacking problems this season go beyond just the striker, we are also not creating which is a bigger issue arguably.

I just don't like the idea of Zlatan at United, at this stage of his career anyway, you are all entitled to disagree but personally in our situation I'd rather we go for someone else with more left in them.

Zlatan is a threat. He can create something for himself out of nothing. Only couple of players can do that in this United team. Imagine how nice it would be if Martial isn't double teamed every game.

All Europe-based sources I'm talking to think Ibrahimovic will go to Man United (but only if Van Gaal, whom he doesn't like, leaves).

I can see the balance of power, so to speak, swinging back to the North as regards the top 4 with Arsenal and Chelsea again on the outside looking in at, in no particular order, City, L'pool, United and Tottenham.

He scores and creates from nothing. There are very few players like that. What he does is buy you time, and dig you out of holes.

shouldnt be the only signing, but should be one of them.

What's your opinion on signings mate? I think 4 is more than enough if there the right players in the right possitions. And personally the only ones I would let leave are Carrick.

This is why I wanted Dybala so badly last summer. Same type of player, well kinda, with his ability to do something out of nothing.

I don't know why are you guys obsessing with Zlatan. He'll demand enormous wages and he'll be 35 by the time new season starts. Hardly a low risk signing, even when he is on a free.

"I have said I shall be here, that is my opinion, so the board has to decide if it’s like that," said Van Gaal. "That is a different way of looking to the situation.

“The facts are that we are still fighting for Champions League qualification.

“We depend on Manchester City [losing] but we are still fighting, also for the FA Cup, and then we shall see what the board is doing.”

At least it doesn't sound like the board have given him any assurances.

Do you see Martial/ Rashford or even both as future striking options for Utd?

If you do, look at such a move this way. Someone like Ibrahimovic would be the perfect 'bridge' player the next few years to bring them on at their own pace.
Martial is a winger...not a striker.
