The Manchester United Thread

I'm not overly worried about De Gea, and I'm always a little surprised how fans of other clubs keep telling us this. If anyone is going to keep him it's a combination of Mourinho and Mendes.

They will also tell you club will be shut down in a year or 2. Always a doom and gloom when it comes to ManUtd.

Won't b able to confirm it till at least 1pm will they when the NYSE opens

Signing Manager can be announced any time it seems. Only higher position like directors should be informed before announcing.

Managers can be announced anytime. The NYSE is a myth. And only for higher members of the club.
Why was they saying that LVG's sacking couldn't be announced till after 1 then coz of the NYSE? Or was that just more bollocks from the media?

#MUFC have finalised Mourinho contract after commercial complications delayed process

Nice deal for real winners of this: Lawyers. I wonder should I change from Corporate Finance to Sports...

In a word, yes.

Complete bollocks. Would not be surprised that it all started from one idiot in Twitter thinking he knew how the stock market works and everyone jumped on the story thinking it sounded great. Corporations don't notify the NYSE when they change a manager of a team in one of their departments as it has no bearing so we don't. Now United may be a different story in that regard as our stock price rose when LVG was sacked and the Mou rumors wen't into overdrive, however United is a one off compared to the rest of the organisations on the NYSE so the same laws apply. Pretty obvious IMO.

Then why is he on the board of directors...

IIRC he's not. We have 2 boards. The main one which make all the decisions which include the Glazers and Woodward. Then there is another that includes Fergie and Charlton. They have no say whatsoever in the running of the club and the decision making. Their opinions will be heard, but as far as top decisions go they arent involved.

Board of Directors are Avram Glazer, Joel Glazer, Ed Woodward, Richard Arnold, Jameison Reigle, Kevin Glazer, Bryan Glazer, Darcie Glazer, Edward Glazer, Robert Leitao, Manu Sawhney, and John Hooks.

Of them the ones responsible for the management of the club are: Avram Glazer, Joel Glazer, Ed Woodard, Richard Arnold and Jameison Reigle.

Fergie, Charlton and Gill are just Ambassadors

Yes. Only change in directors or something at that level needs to be informed, not the change of Manager. It's a myth and poor journalism.

Speaking of ex-United players, I wish they'd all shut the **** up in the media. All they do is bickering and stroke each others *****, while never saying anything of substance.

Does anyone mind if I post some more quotes from Zlatans interview when asked about a possible move to Utd he did today?
