The Manchester United Thread

Well if professional manager and multiple Champions League winner Pep Guardiola said it was one of the best performances he's ever seen he's obviously right. Any normal person with eyes is clearly wrong and shouldn't have an opinion. Why is this forum here again?

I was taking the **** at his comments, he was just obviously protecting his player, what are you on about?

Well quite obviously you live under a rock then because thats exactly why the media is using that as a stick to beat him with

I have a friend who is a hairdresser and seems to have a different hair cut every time I see them. Thought it was do to with the job now I know that it's really because they are incredibly arrogant

Just saying.

If Hitler didn't have facial hair, World War 2 wouldn't have happened.

If you look carefully he does have a slightly different hair cut in each photo it's just that it isn't a huge difference or a different hair colour to the ones before. But they are all different to the previous one

Those things you have mentioned in relation to Taylor Swift are actually logical. Emotions do have an effect on the quality of an album. Haircuts cannot possibly have an effect on a player's performance unless a player magically misses a header after being unable to see past Maruane Fellaini's afro. You cannot logically criticise him for his haircut unless you could prove that it can cause poor performances

In theory sure, but in reality, the logic of thing is largely irrelevant.

Play silly games, win silly prizes. Like I said, not a lot of sympathy for a club and a player that have both milked everything they possibly can from the illogical, shallow nature of their position in popular culture, if they're then judged in a way that is just as illogical and shallow. I don't care if he has a lot of haircuts, but he should be well aware that doing so then failing to deliver is going to attract additional ire. You don't get to roll in cash whilst it's working, then cry when the downsides come around.

Well done for missing the point by an absolute country mile.

Nicely expressed. You milk your position as a public figure and project this absurd image to the public, be ready for the additional criticism that comes your way when you cannot deliver on the pitch.

Mata does not attract anywhere near the criticism because the guy actually keeps a low profile off the pitch and remains (or at leasr projects the image) of being humble and simple.

Absurd image of what. If you look at his instagram 1 picture of the last twelve is his hair, two are him as a kid, one is him wishing his brother a good season, one a Man Utd photo I think was required, two were him with some friends and three are him playing/training.

What an absurd guy having friends, caring about family and working

His twitter is basically the same family stuff and Man Utd and one photo of him in a suit. Nothing there to make him an international playboy

I maybe criticized for what I'm about say, but I'm glad Jose Mourinho didn't resort to dirty tactics. And try to kick City off the field like he has done in the past with previous clubs when he come up against Pep Guardiola's teams or Barcelona.
And I've got be honest City deserved there win with their first half performance.
If it wasn't that goalkeeping error from Claudio Bravo at the end of the first half. We wouldn't had sniff at all.
I blame the board for trying hard enough to get Pep to come to us.

Be nice if he'd stop crying it in after every loss as well like. He makes Ferguson look a good loser. Always EVERYTHING but him. The players. The officials et all. But any win and it's ALL him.

Was a stonewall pen though, definitely one of them, arguable for the other.

Hardly. He is right to moan because there were some crazy refeereing decisions in the Derby. Bravo really should have been sent off and that changes the game right there. Also whenever Mourinho's team wins, he always pulls himself back and lets the players enjoy the praise. When his team loses, he directs all the ire and criticism towards himself.
