The Manchester United Thread

I LOVE UNITED!!!!!!! WELL DONE CITY!!! This has been a great learning expirience for the likes of : De Gea, Rafael, Smalling, Jones, Cleverley, Welbeck! And probs some more...! U-N-I-T-E-D United are the team for me!

After hearing the news of City scoring from a Sky Reporter, Sir Alex just shrugged his shoulders and went on to acknowledge United supporters! What a man he is!

Is is true De Gea and Jones were crying when they heard the news at the end of the game?

To be fair, 'Got Lucky' is pretty accurate. And to a lesser extent 'City only won cus United was poor' is as well.
But I'm not going to moan and groan. It's been a **** of a battle and a brilliant end. Let's hope the other teams step it up next season and bring something else to the party.

you dont get lucky over 38 games, and united got 89 points, not bad for a 'poor team' ... both teams gave it away at some point, with both having big leads..

No idea, but it was heartbreaking for City to win it the way they did. Went in expecting nothing, and by the 90th minute there was belief of the title. Would have preferred City to just hammer them 4-0.

Exactly what I said to Faulky :(

If City had have put 3 or 4 past them without reply like I expected when they went 1-0 up, I wouldn't have felt so bad.

But false hope is cruel... could tell City would do what they did. Still came as one **** of a shock when they did :/

Could not see them crying jones just looked shocked and de gea put his head in his shirt but did not see them crying!

Oh fair enough, I just heard it on BBC 5 Live Radio that apparently they did at the end.

Lets not be too disheartened though, yes it hurts the way it happened but it has been a very good season for us considering the injuries we had and the squad in general to get 89 points is absolutely amazing and we were worthy champions if it was not for Aguero's last minute goal.

With some investment in the summer (especially midfield) we will be back stronger than ever and Sir Alex has his targets already identified so hopefully the business will be done soon before the Euro's. Not to mention hopefully we will have Vidic back and maybe Fletcher.

Chin up United fans :)

Well you do get lucky sometimes. But I'm not going to argue.

Can see investment but not big sums imo, think 2 people in tops.

The only 'luck' they had is our misfortune with injuries. Over the course of a season, it's statistically improbable that you'll have a large net of decisions for you.

Well I think David Gill said there will be 2 - 3 players incoming and a few outgoing. Personally I have no real ideas who will be incoming but I know Fergie was watching the German Cup Final last night and that makes me think we are after Kagawa, but I am not sure if he is the type of midfielder we actually need, I would of liked to think that a holding midfielder was first on the list but after Fergie says he does not buy them then obviously not.

Think we defo after kagawa cant think who else fergie could be watching, would not be supprised if he has at look at gylfi and baines as other signings, players like martinez, de marcos and all other CMs metioned would be to pricey imo but you never know

If Evra plays like he did in his last 3 games then we dont need any first choice LB. He was like his old self. We should just spend whatever we have for CMs. That will do.

I expect Welbeck to shine next season with Chicharito getting his form back after deserved rest. Also hope Cleverley and Anderson will get back on the track...

yep glad hernadez gonna get rest after playing like non stop footy for 4 yrs, think cleverly will come good baring injuries and i think if ando stays will be he last chance for sure.

In my opinion, you make your own luck. I know there is a bit of luck involved with injuries, but it is also partly down to the training, physios and treatments of the players!

However, I have to say, I do feel for you as, in an 'average' season, you have got 89 points yet lost the title by a mere couple of goals. It's incredible how you even got in a position to be in it on the last day, with all the injuries and the lack of big signings!

I think they need to change the tactics. With an extra stricker and better suited for cleverley, chicha and welbeck to play. Man utd r getting a bit to obvious. Just my opinion.
