The Manchester United Thread

To be fair rattling the underside of the bar and having a goal-bound header blocked by a defender leaves the "no shots on target" stat a little bit of of an untold story.

In total control, just need to move the ball quicker. Good signs in the last 5-8 minutes or so.

They don't count balls that hit the woodwork as a shot on target. Ridiculous as that is. What they think the frame of the goal is I don't know.

Another very flawed stat.

Yeah I first noticed it years ago playing Fifa with a mate, won 1-0 with 0 shots on target (off the post)

Nothing spectacular, but job done and our confidence from the Leicester result remains unscratched going into the weekend.

Fellaini can not play on Sunday, simple. I don't have to comment on Rojo as he definitely won't play, but Fellaini can't play. Herrera offers everything the Belgian has and more, and it's not as if we need his aerial presence either nowadays with Ibra, Bailly, Smalling & Pogba (almost 50% of our outfield players) well over 6ft.

Meh. Job done. Another win onto the next against Stoke on Sunday. God I hope Herrera is back in for Fellaini. And 2 good FBs will help our attack a lot more on Sunday. No special mentions tonight! Were glimpses of Mata, Pogba and Zlatan building something together like against Liecster. But was pretty dire.

Rojo is shocking in every way! Looks knackerd after about 60 mins each time he has played. Hope for the same team as against Leicester!

What im afraid of is that we ll eventually face Lfc with a 4231 even with herrera instead of fellaini and be totally overrun in midfield.

Think Mou will have learned a lot against City. Intact he showed he got it wrong in the first half by changing it in the second when we much better team. By changing to a 3 bringing Herrera on. Obviously it will be a tough game, but if you play it right and beat there press they can be got at. There defence ain't the best. I do like Mario though! And Henderson can exposed.

I don't think we'd be overrun in midfield, it'd be practically Herrera/Pogba vs Henderson/Wijnaldum, it just depends which of the pair stands up taller to be counted on the day, winning second balls, constantly looking to get on it, getting it forward to both sets of quality front four's. It's going to be one **** of a game. I really do think once we play the right team, no Fellaini (obvious) or Rooney (lacks the pace that he once had and what we need, and his interplay & pass preciseness is nothing these days compared to Mata), then we're as good as anyone in the league. Would LOVE to have Mkhitaryan fit & sharp for that game.

Talking of the L'pool- Utd game:Mourinho not happy with #LFC game on Monday night before Fenerbahce game -- 'It's a poisoned gift'

Does he EVER stop narking about nottin'?

Tbf I get his frustration in this situation. We have Liverpool on Monday, Fenerbache on Thursday, then away to Chelsea that Sunday, and then on top of that playing Man City on Wednesday. 4 huge games in 10 days, and it's not even the Xmas run in. I know that's football, but it is frustrating.

And the difference between Monday- Thursday as opposed to Saturday-Tuesday/ Sunday- Wednesday is?

It's utter bollocks and just an excuse for him to moan some more.

I think it's the magnitude of the games that's annoying, there's no game there where you can say to yourself "ok, I'll rest half the team here" as even that Europa League clash with Fenerbache is huge.
