The Manchester United Thread

I think it's the magnitude of the games that's annoying, there's no game there where you can say to yourself "ok, I'll rest half the team here" as even that Europa League clash with Fenerbache is huge.

I think he's setting up one of his excuses early in case you lose the game more like.

Ridiculous non-issue to nark about a Monday-Thursday schedule that's still 3 days between games as most any midweek is.

So Klopp can rest half a team in the Premier League because they could never play in the Europa League as well but Mourinho can't complain about the break in between despite having to play a very strong line up in all the games

I think Mourinho actually has a point, in that the Liverpool-United game could easily be on the Sunday or Saturday rather than the Monday

I think he has such a reputation for complaining, that even when he comes out with a valid point, it still comes across as whinging haha

Valid my eye. Again, Sat'day- Tuesday/ Sunday- Wednesday/ Monday- Thursday. The difference being ..... Wait, there ISN'T one.

But it sure is nice to set up your excuses early before a potential loss.

The selective half telling of last year from ninja we'll leave to spare him.

Exactly, both he and guardiola were vocal about then when in Spain. Plenty of managers here have been vocal too. Funny how the view changes when it's Jose.

Tbf I get his frustration in this situation. We have Liverpool on Monday, Fenerbache on Thursday, then away to Chelsea that Sunday, and then on top of that playing Man City on Wednesday. 4 huge games in 10 days, and it's not even the Xmas run in. I know that's football, but it is frustrating.

It is what it is, welcome back to European footy. Playing in the CL on a Wednesday, against a top team wouldn't be pleasant either...we gotta get used to it.

Exactly. You want to be a top club again, you need to be able to deal with that ****. All the actual elite clubs do.

have you picked a club to follow this season yet?

No, I decided to take a break, feeling a bit burned out with non-stop football, crazy transfer sagas and drama.

Still gonna pick random matches to watch here and there, but not following anybody in particular.

best way just sit back and enjoy the show

Did you ever support a team?

Look who has suddenly become his biggest defender :P

Watch Roma: could well be Totti's last year and he's still schooling everyone else on the pitch. Plus De Rossi keeps things interesting.

As much as I detest he and Roma (feelings mutual. They hate the 'Red Death' as they so quaintly call us); can't help but have the utmost respected and admiration for a one club man still bringing it when called upon at 40.

Legend is an oft over used word today but it certainly applies to someone like Totti.

Also Tuanzebe and Williams have been told that they will train with the first team for the next few weeks and Willock this week.

Dont get too carried away. He still plays Felliani, and i'm not happy with that. It's the same point I made under Ferguson.

WE have to get on with it, it's still freaking annoying, and he does have a point.

One of football's eternal mysteries how a thug in boots yard dog continues to not only survive at a club like Utd, but now hoodwink a top manager into constantly playing him!
